midtensportsfan
What are the possible matchups? What are each teams weaknesses and strengths? How do these games turn out? Jackson County vs VanBuren Co. with Jackson County winning big CSAS vs Clay County with CSAS winning by 10 Edited January 28, 2011 by midtensportsfan
THELEGEND
CSAS beat Clay by 17 in a HOF game (their 2nd of the day) and they are much better now. You really think CSAS would only win by 10? What about Friendship?
swanson71
5 teams that could possibly come out of region 4a in no paticular order: #1 Red Boiling Springs #2 Friendship Christian #3 Pickett County #4 Jackson County #5 Clay County Top players in region 4a to watch for in no paticular order: #1 Trent Boles #2 Wes Grace #3 Jordan Godwin The only good team, with the way it looks, is CSAS. Any team out of Region 4a will go down there and probably lose. For a region 4a team to go to the state tournament it will have to be by winning the region tournament and hosting the sub-state game.

THELEGEND
So how do things play out now that Jackson County isn't invincible?

Teams from 4-A: CSAS- beat Silverdale by 40 and Temple by 41 this week. Signal Mtn.- up and down but hosting the region tourney Grace- experienced coaching staff but inexperienced guards Van Buren- best team in 6-A right now but an unknown Darkhorse team- could be Lookout Valley, Temple, or Silverdale No team has dominant players other than CSAS. The Patriots are twelve deep and play twelve every game.
THELEGEND
Clay, Jackson, and RBS all have star players who can carry their teams through the region. Who does FCS have?
possumtownshady
Clay, Jackson, and RBS all have star players who can carry their teams through the region. Who does FCS have? FC plays 8 to 10 players deep depending on the night. they may not have one star player but often get at least 3 in double digits. most players can play more than just one position which is more than i can say for most the other teams in the region that i have seen play. they seem to be extremely hard to beat when they come to play

Let me redo this just a bit Top 4 teams out of Region 4a are in no paticular order: Clay County FCS Jackson County Red Boiling Springs These teams are about even and there is no clear cut favorite of the 4. Clay County, Jackson County, and RBS all have players that they cannot win without. FCS has best over all starting 5 but, as possum said, they have a ton of players that are about even and not 1 player stands out as the best player. Teams that could possibly sneak in: Pickett County Clarkrange Watertown These 3 teams could cause trouble and sneak up on any of the top 4. Lets put them in order #1 Jackson County only one loss against Class A schools #2 Friendship Christian the #1 team in District 8A #3 Clay Co. they've beaten FCS already and have alot of talent #4 Clarkrange after knocking of JC they have vaulted to the 4 spot #5 Watertown athletic and could be a spoiler come tourney time #6 Pickett Co. They've beaten RBS so i give them the nod over RBS #7 RBS after losing 2 key players they drop out of the top spots they have no bench

Jackson County has one loss to a Class A school, but they haven't played a good Class A school outside their district and region yet. You give Pickett County the nod over RBS because they've beaten them, but yet Clarkrange beat Jackson County so why not give them the nod over Jackson County? Oh wait I forgot, that was a fluke . Let's look at things like this: Clarkrange lost to Clay County who has lost to Pickett County who has lost to Jackson County that lost to Clarkrange. Jackson County beat Pickett County who beat Clay County who's beaten Clarkrange who beat Jackson County. RBS split with Watertown who FCS beat twice, however RBS won their home game against Clay County while FCS lost their game with FCS. RBS lost to Gordonsville who FCS crushed twice, but FCS lost a home game against Westmoreland who RBS has beaten by double digits twice. So who is the #1 team? THERE IS NO CLEAR CUT #1 team. You lead everyone on to believe that Jackson County is the clear cut favorite in the region when they are not. From watching all the teams the 4 best teams in the region are FCS, RBS, Clay County, and Jackson County. Jackson County, Clay County and RBS have 1 guy they depend on while FCS doesn't have a dominant player they have the best starting 5 to even out.
