I am a bit biased... and with all due respect to a lot of very fine 3B throughout the state...

There is Sarah Beth. And then there is everybody else.

Sorry. Elizabethton's Erin Kiser blasted homerun #10 yesterday. That gives her 24 in two years. I doubt anyone else is even close.

The question was who are the best 3rd basemen, not who are the best hitters. I imagine your girl would be a good hitter if she played right field, catcher or pitcher too... correct? The two, hitting and fielding, do not have anything to do with one another. Start a thread about hitters for your girl.

So back to the question, Sara Beth Roberts signed with UTC. In 13 years of watching softball I have never seen a better 3rd baseman than her. I've seen her on many occasions one hand a bunt and throw the lead runner out at 2nd base. Sara Beth regularly makes plays that could be on the espn top 10.

Actually, I do not think the thread specified defensive 3rd basemen. It may be implied, but was not specified. I am sure your player is great defensively if she has signed with UTC. She is probably a good hitter too. You have to have offense, defense, and pitching to win. I think Erin is good defensively and great offensively. If you combine offense and defense she has to be one of, if not the best, third basemen in the state.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
