TN vs. KY Future Stars Combine / Tryouts

Recommended Posts

Inviting ALL 7th & 8th Graders (today in school) to Future Stars Open Tryouts. Last year was a HUGE success! Many Future Stars went on and started Varsity as 9th Graders at their respective school (three started in state title games) George Porter (Chatt Baylor RB) Shawn Prevo (Maryville RB) and Todd Kelly Jr. (Knox Webb FS). The Open Tryout is a great way for the athletes to learn, compete, get noticed and have fun! Its a great way for athletes to "see where they measure up". We have a very diverse mix of coaches and ex Vols/Pro Players leading the Tryout. We invite ANYONE to attend to get a glimpse of the Future Stars in our state. The selected players are treated like young stars as they report and stay on a college campus for four days, they attend events and hear various guest speakers throughout the week and cap it all off with the game (June 11). Take a look below at some of last years highlights. At Tryouts each participant will go thru a variety of position drills, 1-ON-1's and mini pro style Combine. Here are Tryout Dates and locations East Tenn Powell High School April 23; Middle/West Tenn David Lipscomb High School April 30. Athletes CAN register in person day of Tryout; Cost is $30 includes Combine Stats, Future Stars T-Shirt and good football workout. For more information please email knoxfalconsfb@comcast.net

How many Maryville MS ballplayers made the team this year? Last year this wasn't opened up to just any 7/8th grader, you had to be recommended by your MS coach.

It was an Open Tryout last year as well! Some coaches just choose not to let all their players know. The teams haven't been selected yet we have the Middle / West Tenn Tryout this weekend in Nashville @ David Lipscomb High School. If you know a current 7th and/or 8th Grade athlete tell him to come out and give it a shot! He'll have a good time! And if he's fortunate enough to be selected then he'll have a football experience to remember forever in (June). Cost is $30 and they can sign-up up Sat in person.

Interesting! Not quite how it was explained to us on the phone last year, but interesting none the less.

Last year we took nominations from coaches but they didn't carry any weight when selecting the team, the teams were picked by the "Evaluator" at Tryouts of that position. The "Evaluators" had no clue who was nominated and who wasn't. Only the director knew who was nominated; there were several "non" nominated kids who made the team last year. Many of last years Future stars went on and started Varsity at their respective high school this past fall. This year we didn't take nominations, no reason as to why just didn't do it!

  • 2 weeks later...

Maryville should have a few 8th graders on the team. Dylan Shinski is the headliner. I think there are some really good 7th graders also.

Maryville placed 3 on the 45 member 8th grade squad. Shinski was one of them. Bristol (WR) and Sloan (OL) were the other two. The team is a good mix from all four corners of the state...Blountville to Jackson and points in between. Should be a good squad. More kids tried out this year than last, a second tryout was held in Nashville this year, and competition seems to have been tighter by position than last year, according to those who saw both groups.

Yes much deeper talent pool tried out this year meaning several good players were left off the list b/c of limitations. Saw some GREAT talent at both locations. Some H.S. programs (too many too list) are going to be getting some outstanding players soon. Pretty much every area of state covered except Memphis (no one tried out from there) but even Northwest Tenn has some representation: Union City, Paris (Henry Co) and Martin. Going to be alot of fun! Come support the "future" June 11 at Carson Newman College. To view the rosters look on Football Tech Camps dot com website (Future Stars link).

    • Upperman White County both will be loaded. Dyersbirg and South Side will be a handful as well. Getting about that time in about 3 weeks we start watching summer scrimmages. Dyersburg loaded loaded loaded with talent. Most talent ever I have seen in their program.
    • We, SP, blanked them 10-0 in sectional game during 21 season.
    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
