I know very little about this situation, but if it's true, I don't really understand the rationale. Of course it's an honor to play at Oak Hill. I understand that players go there to get an opportunity to play with and against top high school talent. However, isn't the main motivation usually to get exposure; hence more major college scholarship offers. I thought Hale has already verbally committed to Alabama. Furthermore, I'm not sure Hale is ready for Oak Hill. It's true that he is an excellent talent with big upside, but he was exposed by Southwind's Jonathan Williams during the Arby's this season. Good luck to Shannon if he chooses this path, but I think J3 is much more ready for Oak Hill than Hale is. He will go from being "the man" at SH to likely just competing for playing time at Oak Hill. My two cents...

Exposure is only the start. Competition is what really sets Oak Hill apart. They play as tough a schedule as anyone in the country. Science Hill's only competition is in tournaments like Arby's and the substate, etc. Oak Hill's competition is good every game, every night. The rationale is really preparing to play at an SEC level when he goes to Bama...

Great point. However, in order for this to work, one has to be on the floor competing. I don't see Hale in that role at Oak Hill yet. Maybe after another year...sounds like it's a moot point anyway.

I have heard there may something going on here after all. Hale and Jaylen Allen could be a package deal somewhere. Jaylen wants to play the guard position which is what he will play in college.

Not surprised. That would really hurt - considering the schedule they've got set for next year... Jaylen probably needs the exposure/experience more than Hale.

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
