Franklin Co. has three outstanding jrs. All had extensive playing time as sophs.

Puryear: (outfielder) strong arm, great speed, and hits

with power.

Crabtree: (ss) slick fielder, strong arm, great speed,

line drive hitter.

Summers: (2nd) another slick fielder, great speed, quick

release around the bag, line drive hitter.

Why does everybody leave out single A players. Just because we play at a smaller school doesn't mean we aren't as talented. The difference between us and you guys is that we play two or three or sometimes even four different sports, so we can't practice one sport the entire year. That's why when a small school like Eagleville beats a larger school like Page, people should notice. Eagleville, Cornersville, Forrest, Cascade, Richland, Culleoka, Unionville, and Moore County all have great talent in baseball as well as their other sports (District 11A), the problem is they don't get their athletes from those other sports until those sports end their seasons. Triple A schools and their players should have a little respect for all of us "little" guys. We play hard and we harbor our own pool of talent.

By the way, my point was that Bryce Toups of Eagleville is a premier junior catcher in the mid-state at any level. Also, Eagleville is LOADED with sophomores that can play! Look out for Eagleville this year and for years to come! Go Eagles!!!

yeah, i agree trueblue, Nick is a very good player with a lot of potential. He will be a good leader next year, especially since he is one of the top leaders this year. He might not always have a outstanding game or get a hit every game but he gives a 110% when it comes time to lace up the cleets and hit the field. He struggled at the beggining of the season but looks like he is starting to get things in order and start making a name for himself around the district. The one thing I like most about this kid, is the way he carries himself. He always looks like he is ready to play and does anything he can to get into the game. Also, another thing that I really like about him and I know that other coaches have seen, is his base running abilities, and from what I have been told, that is what he loves to do and takes pride in, is his running.

    • look at the leadership
    • Biggest position to fill is QB. Kamden was special. A 1A team that can run and pass is very dangerous.
    • That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)
    • Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
    • Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
