For anyone who cares here is how it went from wjle.

 

The DeKalb County Tigers took an early lead and cruised to a 46 to 7 victory over the visiting Clay County Bulldogs Friday night in the season home opener .

 

DC scored on its first three possessions of the game, the first one coming on a two yard touchdown run by Zach Taylor. The P.A.T by Taylor was no good but the Tigers were up 6-0.

 

Dyan Freeney scored on a five yard touchdown run for the Tigers with 6:35 left in the first period. Taylor's P.A.T. was good and DeKalb County led 13-0

 

Quarterback Lucas Phillips gave the Tigers a three score advantage with 1:32 left in the opening quarter on a four yard touchdown run. The P.A.T. was good and the Tigers owned a 20-0 lead.

 

Clay County's one and only score came with 7:05 left in the second period on a four yard touchdown run by Nick Cox. The P.A.T. was good the Bulldogs were on the board trailing 20-7

 

The Tigers only score in the second period came on the strength of a 33 yard field goal by Zach Taylor with 3:24 left giving DC a 23 to 7 lead by halftime.

 

The second half belonged to the black and gold. With 8:59 left in the third period, Sebastian Phillips scampered 34 yards for a touchdown. The P.A.T. attempt was no good but the Tigers were firmly in command at 29-7

 

Zach Taylor was called on for another field goal try with 9:46 left in the fourth quarter, this time from 43 yards, and he converted giving the Tigers a 32-7 advantage over the Bulldogs.

 

DeKalb County's Cody Pucket later scooped up a Clay County fumble and raced 30 yards for another Tiger touchdown and with 9:06 left in the game and DC's lead was 39-7.

 

Sebastian Phillips scored the second of his two touchdowns on the night with less than four minutes in the game, on a three yard touchdown run. The P.A.T. was good and the Tigers celebrated victory for the second week in a row, this time winning 46-7 at home.

 

DeKalb County will host the Cannon County Lions in the district opener next Friday night, September 2 in Smithville. Kick off is at 7:00 p.m.
