Smyrna lost to A pretty good BGA team as a result of mistakes from a lack of concentration. Bulldogs have

the speed and tallent to hang with anybody in the state . Just have to keep their heads in the game !

I gotta go with Brentwood though it will come down to kicking, turnovers, and penalties.

I saw nothing against a completely outmatched Cookville team that would ever threaten B-wood. That being said I think Smyrner has the speed to negate the outside runs that really made the difference vs Cookville. If Brentwood is unable to throw the ball with some success I would favor Smyrner.

Brentwood is overrated. I know that b/c that's my team! Murphy Fair Coach's Poll & AP both have them at # 7 in the state and that's way too high. Too many things left to prove. But... the MOST overrated team in the state is Smyrna. They lost all of their playmakers from last year. Can't see any reason to have them ranked # 2. Nevertheless, I'm surprised to see that they lost to BGA. Brentwood has the edge here because it's a home game and they've done a a better job protecting the football (so far). Have to think that the BHS rookie QB should be a little more relaxed & confident than Smyrna's rookie QB. Don't forget... no matter how fired up Smyrna will be coming off a loss where they were expected to win, Brentwood is equally motivated by two losses to Smyrna last year.

I dont think Brentwood is overrated. They are young and are trying to find their way just like Smyrna. They have some speed on the edge and a pretty solid defense. Should be a good game. Go Dawgs!!!

28-7 Bulldogs!!!! Well kind of shaky to start. But it didnt take long for the Bulldogs to get it going. Brentwood 's first score was their last and the Bulldogs left 14 points on the field in the form of a fumble on the 1 yard line and a blocking in the back penalty on an interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Bulldogs dominated this game from about the mid way point of the first qtr. The Bulldog 's first play from scrimage was a pass play in the flat that went for 80yards. The Dawgs racked up multiple sacks, interceptions, and tackles for a loss. Defense got better as the game went on. Need to get better in the pass defense. O-line had trouble from time to time but always managed to get it done when it counted. We seemed to have the upper hand in the coaching department tonight as well. Speed was too much for the Bruins to handle. Our rookie quarterback was ligths out. he even ran some people over tonight to get some first downs. 1 touchdown pass with no interceptions. Dont know the rest of his stats. The best part is that we didnt play as many people both ways this game. Solid effort all the way around. Looks like every team in the county won after all.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
