Shep, Cheatham Co. is 3A. Here's what CC has done this year:

* Lost to 3A-Fairview (5-0) 26-12. JB scrimmaged Fairview earlier this year and tied/beat them (questionable JB TD). Supposedly Fairview was missing a few players though.

* Lost to 4A-Sycamore (2-2) 22-13. Sycamore just lost to Macon Co. 15-14.

* Beat 4A-Montgomery Central (3-2) 49-14. Montgomery Central lost to Clarksville Academy 33-14 and beat East Robertson 31-14.

* Beat 2A-Mt. Pleasant (2-3) 35-9. Mt. Pleasant barely lost Wayne Co. and lost by a TD to Cascade.

* Lost to 3A-Camden (3-1) 42-28. Tough to get a read on how good Camden is based on common opponents. They beat David Lipscomb, Bruceton, & Cheatham Co. and lost to Westview.

Overall it looks like CC is a solid team and probably the best team left on JB's schedule. They're not as good as a Macon Co. but better than the WHH's & ER's of the world.

I just corrected the original post. I know the Cubs have some size just like Macon Co and ER, but there is a huge difference in how both of those teams utilized that size. Can the Cubs big line move with speed and power?Looks like this could be a 4 qtr game IF both teams bring it and don't lay down after getting down.

This contest will be broadcast at the Cheatham County Cubs Football Fan Page on Friday night. I hear that this is going to be "Homecoming 2011" for Jo Byrns. I anticipate it to be quite an atmosphere at "The Dungeon" on Friday night.

The Cheatham County Cubs lost the opener to Fairview (12-26) in a game which they had their opportunities. The Cubs had 2 touchdowns brought back due to penalties in that contest. 2 turnovers deep inside their own territory gave the Yellow Jackets 2 short fields.

Against Sycamore the Cubs fell behind 22-0 at halftime and were unable to catch up in the second half (lost 13-22).

Montgomery Central was the district opener and the Cubs came out strong and led 21-0 at halftime. In the second half the Cubs did not let up and cruised to a victory (49-14).

The Cubs hosted Mt. Pleasant in the first ever meeting between the 2 teams in week three. In this contest the Cubs weren't really tested once Mt. Pleasant's quarterback was knocked out of the contest in the second quarter. The final score (34-9) showed this was a good win for the Cubs against a quality foe.

This past week the Cubs traveled to Camden to take on the Lions. The Cubs and Lions battled all night. With the contest tied at 28-28 in the final 4 minutes the Lions pulled ahead late with an offensive score followed by a defensive return for an additional score. The final score (28-42) did not truly show how competitive this game truly was.

The last 2 years (2009 & 2010) the Cubs lost by 14 points (7-21 & 0-14) in the "East Robertson Jamboree" to Jo Byrns. This contest is yet another difficult game on what has been a brutal schedule to start the 2011 season for the Cheatham County Cubs. The "bye week" that follows this one arrives just in time for the Cubs to get rested heading into the final 4 games of the season.

I'd sure like to see that energy and intensity level again this week... A 2 headed monster is rising in the backfield, #3 continues to impress many, with him in the game along with #1 is a great mix, time to insert the 210lb FB #36, if he continues to up his game he can be be a bull in there leading the way for #1, #3..... things are coming together at the Dungeon folks !

    • I really don’t get your point. Yes, Bearden lost two superstars, that can’t be glanced over, but if you still look at their roster, they have star talent almost everywhere. I’m sure Jones was expecting to lose players. I mean, it’s been rumored since the days they both stepped into Bearden, but I mean, they still have star talent everywhere, receiver, linebacker, safety, defensive back, running back, not to mention they have two probably top 20 quarterbacks in 6A battling it out every day for the starting position. And knowing Jones, I’m sure there will be another star talent that lands in Bearden this off-season, which, based on hearing rumors, may already be there. I’m not too sure. But Chaz and Brody will definitely hurt, but I really doubt it will affect Bearden as much as you think. Maybe during the postseason going up against teams like Oakland, but I doubt during the regular season.
    • The ironic thing is that in 13 or 14 they did the same thing to the baseball team and hired a moron to coach them and the kids refuse to play. nobody came out they changed the coach to a competent baseball coach and within 3 years went to win a  state championship.so things do hold water when it comes to these things.
    • Dingleberry needs to educate herself on Clemer’s “resume” and why he has been dismissed at a few previous positions along with his love of milf and cookies before making her final decision on the matter I do believe. He would not coach my son just from the stuff outside of the X’s and O’s. Throw the football inadequacies in the mix and it just adds to the list of reasons also. Just a really bad deal given the list of coaches that applied from across the state and beyond there is no explanation whatsoever other than agendas why he was hired.
    • Not looking good Captain, not looking good.We had 0 Srs before all this and had a decent amount of Sophmores and 4 or 5 Jrs.Now I heard we have about 14 kids I have not confirmed that and honestly I don't think I will go any further with it.What the community wants and what the faithful supporters along with players and parents it doesn't matter. The Loudon School board made the decision for us and it has killed our program.Folks can say butt hurt whiners whatever they want to but we are a very proud Community and expect the BEST choices to be made from our Administration and that's just not the case.I was at a Basketball game this winter for my grandkids and ran into a former teammate of mine that I actually coached youth league with for a number of years and he told me they were over 100 applications turned in and they hired the best friend of the School board Member who suggested him.He has even reached out to try to help the guy and he refused so here we are going into the fourth season of bad football.GB since 1985 has not had 3 consecutive bad seasons, now we are facing 4 with no help in sight. How are we supposed to get behind such incompetence?Dingle berry says we sound like Democrats lol.Democrats accept all the crazy and weirdness in this world and just roll with it.Im no Democrat.I'm also tired of fighting for something that our say so holds to water.
