I think its because their amazing running back Z. Gibson left. My opinion.

Although Zach is a good kid and I think a lot of him and loved watching him run, that is not the problem with Halls. Halls has had a great running back the last few years as well as when Zach was there. He is a senior kid, but by now the coaches know where to key in and he can't seem to make any ground on some games. If Halls had a little more aggression on the line and give a little blocking, that kid would be gone every play.

Their players seemed completely uninspired. Maybe it's time for a coaching change?

Presby28 - your right, the kids are uninspired. They tend to get knocked down when they are completely down and lack in receiving motivation. Its a sad thing to watch the spirits broke down in these boys not by their record but by the one running the program.

Well as an avid Karns Beavers supporter, I hope they right the ship against Hardin Valley and get a win. Would really benefit the Beavers for playoff contention and give those guys a much deserved victory.

Karns played a heck of a game Friday night against Halls. Karns was definitely prepared. Best of luck to you guys in the rest of the season.

Maybe there is a lack of leadership amongst the boys. The coaches can yell jump and flip all they want, but if the players don't motivate themselves and each other the team won't get anywhere. In recent years there has always been atleast three or four upperclassmen on the team who were considered leaders by the players and coaches. Whether that was by example or rah rah-ing around to pump everyone else up.

Maybe this isn't happening anymore or the other players aren't buying into it? Hmm...

I'm with oledog again. Gibson was a fine athlete and a decent runner. But like he said Pancaked, Halls has had atleast one good running back for as long as I could remember, and without any toughness or aggression in the trenches you simply cannot run the ball. The back can't do it all himself, that's why football is an eleven man sport. One guy doesn't do his job, they all suffer. Unfortunately, if five lineman don't do their job..it's the backs that suffer. Might want to make a few adjustments with the big boys to see if things improve? Can't get much worse...

In today's game you have to have speed. Halls may have a few kids that can run, but not enough of them.

Bingo. Let's be honest - Halls just doesn't have the horses right now, and there isn't a lot that can be done to overcome that. Sure, they may have some attitude issues, but even well-coached teams have a difficult time overcoming a lack of talent, especially on the prep/high school level.

    • Yeah, we came up short. I remember we threw a ball over the middle to #5 Guymon? and he came up short of the sticks. Gave em he&& for a bit though.
    • Doe dee doe doe…..hmmmmmmm one of those players can run faster than my lawnmower when I put it in 5th gear turbo.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
