First of all, why don't you come over to BA and see for yourself. Also, please elaborate on what I should look for when you say "walk up and down the halls and tell me how many kids look that are not playing football look like those that are.". Also, Max Staver came from JPII and was fully eligible. Do you blame him for changing? I don't.

I agree with you, the comments are a bit much. A little like "Occupy Whatever", someone else has something I don't so they're cheating or all crooks. I asked the question to that poster even though i knew the answer - i just wanted him to say it. I like the "walk the halls.." comment - that's pretty good. Actually, the boys that do not play football at BA for example are very much in the minority. I'm told the Jr class for example has 3/4s of them playing football. This back and forth goes on all over the country. Public school kids decide to go to a top private pgm, or they move between private pgms , then folks get upset and assume the receiving school is cheating or doing some underhanded. Hearsay runs rampant.

Well Antioch is within 20 minutes of BA so I guess you are right. Now how many kids are there from Antioch that go to BA that don't play football? How many kids from Rutherford county or mt. Pleasant go to ensworth that don't play football? Why is ensworth building dorms? Open your eyes people.

BA has less than 500 students in the school and around half are girls. That leaves 250 boys in the school at most. With a football team with 100 boys, the majority of boys from any city play football there. 9 of BA's starters have been at school since 6th grade, and many more came in 7th grade. There are starters that can walk to school. Of BA's 4 best players in their senior class, Al Thompson and Radir Annoor came in 6th grade, and Woody Baron and Graham Shuler came in 7th grade.

Ensworth is building dorms, huh? You must really be on the inside, 'cause not even the administration at Ensworth is aware of this development. Open YOUR eyes and quit posting false information.

Well hear are 3 to start you off. MBA, BA, and ensworth.

Hey O3t...you now have 20 post on Coach T since joining these boards April 2011. These type accusations needs proof or most people on these boards will ignore you. Ryan has an average football program and blaming other schools for Ryan's shortcomings is stupid. Back in the 50's, 60's, 70's and part of the 80's Ryan's football program was superior to most schools in Nashville and middle Tn. Start there and ask why it has lost it's luster. MBA competed with Ryan during those decades, BA in the 70's and 80's and Ensworth since 2005. They have built better programs, provided outstanding education and kids want to go there. That's it..blame Ryan administrators and AD for not keeping up.

I don't know how the number of posts I have has any relevance. If people want to ignore my post that's fine. They have been ignoring the fact that recruiting ihas been going on at the div 2 level for a while now. By the way I never said I was a Ryan supporter. But according to your post Ryan competed up until the split. So what was the change? Could it be the amount of kids on financial aid at those other schools?

You ignored the question. Name the kids you know who are recruited and by what school. Just because they get aid does not mean they were recruited. I would love to be enlightened with facts as opposed to someone just spouting what they think is going on because their school is not competing to their liking. And by the way, if you have a child going to a private school i can tell you that all of them provide financial assistance to kids incl those in football. If you think they don't you don't know what you're talking about. I have met with many of them in middle TN when investigating schools and specifically asked that question

I'm not going to mention names. It's not fair to kids who get swept up in the whole thing. Without mentioning names I seem to remember a little incident earlier this year with a certain envelope that was given to a kid that had cash in it. Now tell me is that proof enough of cheating? TO whoever mentioned the BA players that have been their since grade school you are right. They did go there in grade school and that is also the perfect time for the school to get them there. See there is no governing of how much aid can be given a middle school student, so they could have gone to school for free. I do not know if they did, but I know some have. As far as the students that live close to their schools I do not have any exact numbers but Ensworth boasts of having students from 48 different zip codes on their website. I suspect no matter what I say or what you say to me either of us will ever change the other ones minds.

I mentioned 3 schools at the beginning. Your the one that has made this all about BA. Do I think they are paying kids to go to 7th and 8th grade there. NO. DO I think they are going there for Free. Yes. Do I think they are scouting 5th and 6th grade games as well as 7th and 8th grade games. I know they are. This time you ignored my question. Was envelope-gate cheating?

The reason I don't talk about the other 2 schools you mentioned is because I don't know enough to comment. I have opinions of the issues but those opinions aren't facts, so unlike you, I'm not going to play them off as facts. I'm not associated with those schools but I am associated with BA. I can assure you no one is there for free. Your making slanderous statements that you assume to be true but have nothing to back them. You haven't said one thing on this thread that you can back up in any way. BA, Ensworth, and MBA all have outstanding schools with unbelievable facilities, and a tradition of football succcess. In those regards they are all ahead of all other school in the area, so it's no wonder kids want to go to school there.

Helping out a family with any kind of expenses is NOT illegal, i.e., against the LAW, as some say; it is only "against TSSAA Rules" - "cheating" to you - IFF the kid is on a sports team and getting financial aid. That's the saddest part to me. You can help a kid or his family out as long as he is not on a sports team, otherwise it becomes a "crime." I can buy textbooks as a gift for my next door neighbor's daughter but not for his son, who plays BBall. (Both get some nominal financial aid.) Otherwise, it's "cheating."

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
