Lexington vs. Page

Evans and Kerry were not on the same team. Evans had Jonathon Deberry, Cedric Feilds, and Kevis Buckley.

He would throw 5 yards slants to Buckley and Kevis would take the ball at least 20 yards down field for him. Kevis went on to lead the NCAA in interceptions one year and star in the arena league.

Are you trying to get me started on my rant about that team again? :roflol:

LMBO, it can't be any worse than the rant you had about that basketball team. You got kicked out of a game for that one. LOL..I promise you that when you was leaving the game I believe you could have put the smack down on a lot of people.

WR? Thats funny just the other day someone made the comment that Sellers was the best QB LHS has had in a while. I said maybe the best "running QB" as for the "traditional" QB id have to go with Ty Evans (in my time) and if Sellers an Evans were on the same Lexington team Sellers would be a WR! I think WR/DB will be his calling at the College level!

The two best QB's to play for Lexington in the last 20 years would be Sellers and Stu Jones. Ty Evans was a very good QB for the Big Red but his biggest problem was he played under Coach Lindsey and he was a very poor coach at best. Win/loss records don't lie. :thumb:

Yea StuBo was a good QB as well only because he's from CC! Lol... Coach or no coach I'd still have to take Ty! All three were/are really good QBs tho!

Ty Had no speed at all an it showed. Buckley made him look good. I don't see how you can day Ty I'd one of the best when he never got past the second round of the playoffs. Since this is a Page thread I'm sure they remember him well. They kept him on the ground most of the night. But as was stated earlier, coaching has a lot to do with it. Not the Steve was a horrible coach he had a different mentality about him, that got him a crappy title. One if the best QB's never came out to play because of Steve and if he had have played Ty Evans would be a unheard of WR, some may know who I'm talking about but he broke baseball records at bethal. His name ain't keck either!'

20 years? That's saying Kerry was better than Micheal Thomas.

My senior year our QB was Phillip Wood, if he wouldn't have quit mid-season he would have had monster stats.

    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
