VOLnWTN
Well, spring practice starts this Tuesday. Looks like Milan and Chester County is on the old scrimmage schedule.
Butchie
Milan?....But I Thought Only Hoserdon Was The Only Carroll County Team That Played Them....
ToeDigger
Big difference in PLAYING them and SCRIMMAGING them in the spring. One counts on your record and one doesn't. You'll find that huntingdon is the only 1A school who will attempt that, and that can't be disputed no matter how much dresden and Mckenzief fans attempt to tear them down. Dresden did scrimmage Henry co..it was Henry co jv.....

dt87
One of the main reasons Huntingdon plays Milan is because of their rivalry. McKenzie doesn't have that kind of connection with Milan, and them being a 3A school, it serves McKenzie no benefit. Under the Z-Plan, the TSSAA doesn't reward you for playing up, but they have no issues punishing you if you lose when it comes to the postseason alignments. You say McKenzie plays Westview and Camden all the time...they're 3A schools. So why not play Milan? Right. However, McKenzie has a lot of history with Camden and Westview, having played for years under the old playoff system when they were in 2A. We all know that playing upward in class really helps your team improve for the most part. As a coach though, you have to strike a balance between scheduling tough opponents and ensuring you don't damage the teams opportunities in the playoffs by playing teams that are too tough and the cost ends up being far greater than the rewards. Look at TSSAA and see the number of students in Hoserdon (sorry Butchie for using your term) compaired to McKenzie and Dresden. I'll save you the trouble, Huntingdon 382 students, MeKenzie 419 and Dresden 402. Now look at othet 1A schools in our area, Gleason 195 students, Greenfield 205 and Union City has like 250. You guys were awesome last year and I'll be the first to admit it, although you fell short in the playoffs don't act like you have a small school because you don't. Probably one of the largest schools in 1A. Henry County's JV team would take the Mustangs to the slaghter house.
