gomab2
Dyer Co's 6'2 PG/2G Montrelle Crittendon, who plays summer ball with the Midstate Ballerz, has committed to play for MTSU, joining AAU teammate Ben Britt of Red Bank, Smyrna's Kenyonna Swader, and North Cobb (GA) PG Brian Smithson is what is shaping up to be a GREAT recruiting class for the Blue Raiders. Crittendon, who will graduate at just 17 years old, has the potential to be a STAR at the Mid Major level, and shoots the ball as well as anyone in the State..... TnBball
Hey give me the scouting report on this player. Will he be eligible the first year? Let me know a lil about him, Thanks TNBBALL!!
gomab2
Here you go..... Montrelle Crittendon is a 6'2 PG/2G. He is very quick, and has a great outside shot. He gets to the basket well, but is better at a pull up jumper off one or two dribbles. He definitely has a pure stroke. Montrelle often looks like more of a 2G at the College level, though he runs PG in high school. AGain, he is young, and will graduate at just 17 years old. His biggest downside is a lack of consistent intensity, which he should grow out of as he matures. Montrelle is a big pickup for Middle, but will most likely Prop his first year...... gomab2
Posted by WesCharge:Did Calipari and Memphis fall thru, Heard he was dieing to have him back at the end of last year....Just wondering....Good pickup for MTSU Memphis and Coach Cal showed a lot of interest back in March, but it dies off not long after that. I heard it had something to do with his play with Memphis YOMCA in the Spring. They still showed interest after that, but no offer was on the table during the Summer......In any case, Montrelle is at a great place, and definitely one of the rising programs in the Country.... bballlfan
HOW AND WHY DOES MTSU TAKE SO MANY PROP PROJECTS? I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A SPECIAL DEAL, SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE COUNTY WHERE THE ARE LOCATED. IF YOU LOOK AT THE JR. LIST THERE IS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH IT AS YOU HAVE WITH YOUR SR. LIST. SOME OF THE TOP PLAYERS YOU LIST WILL HAVE TO PROP OR NOT EVEN GO TO SCHOOL. GOMAB2 I STILL THINK YOU RATE PLAYERS FROM YOUR AREA HIGHER JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE PLAYED FOR YOU. KROGER IS NOT A TOP 10 HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN LAST YEAR BUT NOT NOW,HAS NOT DONE THE WORK TO GET BACK TO HIS OLD FORM
gomab2
I do not try to rate the players that play for me higher. I do not try to give any player special consideration .... In fact, Koger did not play for me last year, and actually left on shaky terms, so I am in no way showing him any special consideration........ Opperman
From midsouth-hoops.com: Montrelle Crittendon Update! MidSouth-Hoops has learned that Montrelle Crittendon, the 6'2" PG from Dyer County, TN has made his committment - to Middle Tennessee State! Crittendon "wow'd" plenty of folks last year as a Junior, as he led Dyer County to the State. He has really shoot it from outside, and joins 6'8 Kenyatta Swader from Smyrna, TN, 5'11 Bryan Smithson from Kennesaw, GA, and 6'4 Ben Britt from Chattanooga, TN as early commitments for the Moccasins. And someone disagreed with me a couple of weeks ago about MSH not being any good?
VolunteerGeneral
Hmmmmmmmm....As an alumni of MTSU, I was not aware that MTSU had changed their nickname to the Moccasins!
gomab2
I've had word of this long before Midsouth-hoops, so that is not my source. Montrelle played for me this past summer, and my source came first from Coach Walker at MTSU.....
