Smash if you recall last year @ the AC Jamboree, Trevor Allen won the fastest lineman race & Houston West won the fastest back race & that was going up against Campbell Co, AC, Clinton & Wartburg so we're fast regardless of whether Cheetah is out there or not. He was fast in middle school but I'm not so sure he is the fastest on the team. We have some speed on this team. Let people think we are slow. We'll just surprise them when they play us. :)

What did that get you all in the regular season?

Good one, Old Chap....! For one thing, it got us in front of the Bulldogs! :roflol: I think having speed in positions can never be under emphasized. Neither can strength....and I heard the personnal bests were done last Friday. Sounded like a good day from what I heard they lifted. Don't know the exact #, but I heard more than a few were over 300.

Trevor did win his race, but Im pretty sure Sledge is right. I dont think Houston did that well. Either way thought, the Indians have enough speed to be competitive. Even with all the turmoil, I'm hearing some good things about weight lifting. I really hope the boys are working like they should, great bunch of kids who deserve a shot.

It's near impossible to project how a kid will move from level to level. I know in the 3 years I watched Cheetah play in middle school, he was caught from behind once. It was the kid from Lenior City, who may be the fastest Middle Schooler I have ever seen. Maybe a few from Forest Park, Ga or a few Mexican American kids from West Texas could have matched that kid. If Cheetah hasn't peaked, then he will be mighty tought to keep up with. :hungry:

I have heard the same thing. Possible projections of a gaggle over 400 going into August! I really hope the boys make me look stupid (not that it's that tuff) and keep working hard thru the spring. I may have to revise my predictions for who is gonna finish where in the district.

Geeez crow, I didnt know. Glad to hear they are on the mend!

Yeah, Shay busted a leg when he got rolled up during a drill during spring camp, had to have surgery to install a little hardware & Torrey had right shoulder surgery about the same time to repair an early season injury he just sucked it up & finished the year with. Both are on track for a full recovery well before fall camp starts.

Actually Sledge & I are both wrong. I asked him the last time I saw him & said he finished like 2nd or 3rd & that he had a horrible start. I'm betting w/a good start that he'd have been challenging for the win but those 2 aren't the only speedsters on the team. Bear, Dannon & Noah have good speed on the skill side & on the lineman side there is Adam & Christian to name a few.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
