According to this week's TWF rankings Hoodenpyle of McCallie went 1-1 at the GPW and got second at 182. I haven't been able to bring up the brackets to take a look at them. I was wondering if the weight class was thin enough for 1 win to be enough for a finals birth. I find that hard to believe with the amount of teams that attended the tournament.

The weight class was a 16 man bracket with 12 wrestlers competing. Hoodenpyle received one of the 4 first round byes, then defeated Cliff Terrell of Brentwood 7-4, and then received a forfeit from Jesse Jones of Cleveland in the semi-finals. Jones forfeited the rest of the event from what I can only assume is an injury sustained in his quarter-final win.

 

Therefore, Hoodenpyle was 1-1 in actual matches wrestled.

From what I saw, Jones drove a double leg out of bounds and collided face first with one of the coaches chairs, causing a cut on his face. The trainers spent a good 10 minutes fixing him up before the match resumed.
