Stone Memorial Beats McCallie

Fantastic game to finish the regular season and get ready for tournaments at SMHS last night! Two of the states best clashed in Crossville as McCallie falls to the host panthers for the second season in a row. Last year the loss catapulted them to a State Runner-Up run. This season they might just take it all! In the win, Panther Senior Brandon Cole scored a game high 24 which was exactly how many he needed to get his 2,000th point in his highly decorated career! His 16 rebounds got him to within reach of the mark of 1,000! He currently stands at 927!

 

Fellow 1,000 point scorer (SR) Robert Troino also played Great! He scored 22 points while pulling down 12 boards, dishing out 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block shot from his two guard spot! (JR) Brock Rowan, also a member of the 1,000 point club, pitched in 12 pts while also serving up 5 assists! Steady Senior Dustin Dishman played an inspired physical game with 7 pts and 8 rebounds! Senior Cameron Thompson played well too making a three and picking up a couple of floor burns to start the game off right!!!

 

Congrats to both teams on Great seasons and Best of Luck in the Tournaments that begin tomorrow!

The coach for Stone used to be our coach. One of his strengths is having a team ready to play come tournament time. His teams don't seem to get beat by much when they do (if they do) during the tournaments. I watched Stone play a few times over the pass couple seasons, it was fun to watch. Good luck to Stone.
