SOUTHERNFRIED
cf88, does Beaty's no hitter last night mean less because it was against a depleted (by suspension) Hendersonville team or was it a great performance by a player? By your thinking with Dunn's perfect game coming against Portland, sounds like Beaty's no hitter should have an asteriks next to it. Or, can we congratulate 2 young men on great performances on the mound and not worry about who it was against. As Southern Fried states below, a no hitter is a rare feat and a perfect game even rarer. How about we give these 2 young men credit for stepping up above their competition. Nice article on Beaty's no hitter. Congratulations to Beaty and the Green Wave! Very well said....now can someone explain why no paper has done an article on the perfect game that Dunn threw? Heck I even asked one of the sports writers in our town to do one, lol. Fair is fair, that is one heck of an accomplishment, for the whole team. If he went to JP II or Vol State it would have surely been front page in the Star News.
bzblfan
Not taking anything away from Beaty. None of those boys could hit him. But it was pretty common for Gallatin to run the score up like they did when 10 of HHS boys (6-7 of their starters) were sitting in the bleachers watching the game. Gallatin's starters never came out of the game. Seems like that would have been a great time to let at least a few of the other 40 kids on the team get a little varsity time in. TheYoungster
I think we need to congratulate two young men for great performances. This is high school baseball let these kids be high schoolers and take pride in what they did not slap them in the face or question what they did.... haebvols
Being a baseball fan, I wouldnt care if he threw it against a 12 yr old Dixie team. A perfect game is a rare feet. Everyone knows any team, are no better than their pitching on any given night......here is a link to the story, says he walked 2, thats a shame, but congrats on the no no :No Hitter! Feat! Really, it's Gallatin vs. H'ville... btw, what was the suspension based on? And 3 weeks after the spring break seems fishey. MJ 4 SC 0 AGAIN... solid pitching by Haeberle, no help at the plate or "D". Stayed for Collierville vs. MJ, left after 3 1/2, MJ up 5-3. Barber pitched well locating curveball, but top 4 no outs, 2 on, Purvis pulled him... didn't look happy about it. Didn't agree either... let him work it out with 2 run lead. OK for a Sr. to get a little frustrated, seen that enough this season.

I think Gallatin has been shafted by Hville in the past so what do you expect Gallatin to do in a District game??? Last time I checked it wasn't Gallatin's fault that they made a "mistake"
FightinIllini
MJ over Collierville 8-5 MJ pitchers Barber and Smith looked good, defense solid, Kyle Smith ground rule double, one walk and two homers, not a bad night MJ is a well oiled machine. Agreed, SC sent out their best 2 nights in a row and got nada. Still 18-7, if they can gather it up can still make some noise down the road.
