Forrest and Cascade face off tonight for first place in District 9. Forrest has played 6 games in the last week, Cascade, none. May be a factor...

You think the reason may be that the coach ain't takin it real serious? Why play when you get paid the same as if you did play? That is stupid why be on a hot field, when you can go home early, hate to be the one to tell you folks but them "Losers" ain't ever goin to take this sport very serious when your "ole lady" is the boss who is goin to make you play more???? :flower:

Mon Apr. 23 at #5 Moore County D

Wed Apr. 25 #10 Forrest D

Sat Apr. 28 at #20 Gordonsville

Mon Apr. 30 #1 Richland

Cascade could lose at least 3 of these last four games. I'm sure the schedule on Coach T is incomplete, but it doesn't look like they have played very many games.

Folks as long as Coach Becky is a coachin the "School with the Light on the Tracks" (if you ain't ever seen it, I promise it will scare you!) these ladies will always be in the hunt. I have seen her take a so so club and make them ladies as tough as nails....don't see her a goin to the "Boro" this year but she will be a takin another district title back to the house! :flower:

Cascade had every bit as much talent on the field in my honest opinion. I didn't see the books, but I'd bet Cascade out hit the Rockets. Cascade had a couple of mistakes that cost them dearly last night. Although there were two good umpires, mistakes were made on their part as well. Cascade had a base running mistake in the last inning getting the a runner thrown out at the plate when down by two runs. The next batter up hit a solo homer which would of been the tying run. Bad thing is, even though the runner shouldn't of gone or been sent whatever the case may be, the umpire made a bad call at the plate which cost the run. Forrest catcher had the plate blocked prior to receiving the throw which is clearly a rule violation. The runner beat the throw, but couldn't access the plate with her slide. This same umpire appeared to be a stickler for the rules not allowing a courtesy runner for the pitcher in the top of the first because Cascade hadn't been on defense yet. You'd think if he was going to enforce that rule (which I've never seen or heard of anyone enforcing even if it is on the rule book) he would of been all over the goof up that cost Cascade a chance to tie the game.

Forrest had 13 hits, Cascade had seven. That was a strange call on the courtesy runner, never heard that called before. The play at the plate was close, didn't really see it from where I was. It was good, well-played game by both sides, all the players should be commended for their effort and sportsmanship in the contest. Should be another battle in Wartrace next Wednesday, can't wait to see it!

I'm very shocked at the hit imbalance. May of been a couple of Forrest "hits" that I personally would of scored errors. Pretty sure Cascade likely led in extra base hits. At any rate, teams are a lot closer than past years and it was still anybody's game in the last inning. Should be a good rematch. Cascade beat a really bad Fayetteville City School team last night. I believe it is the first year they had a team, so Cascade played it like a JV game. Opinion... How long does it take kids to adjust from good pitching to poor pitching? In my opinion and from what I've seen as a coach for several years, it is very difficult for the better hitters to hit the weaker pitching. District nine unfortunately only has a couple of teams with good pitching and this kills those teams come post season every year. How many games does TSSAA allow a team to play in regular season now? The only way to see great pitching for the entire season when your in a weak district is to play a lot of tournaments I suppose.

You can schedule 34 regular season games and the weekend tournaments count as only 4 games each, so in the end, you can play well over 34.

How long does it take kids to adjust from good pitching to poor pitching? I guess that depends on what you call good pitchin..the ladies from Bedford County should be used to seein bad pitchin cause if I ain't mistaken they still have that slow pitch league a goin for them....why would a town allow softball pitchin to young girls??? Please share? Cause I can tell you one thing for sure you ain't goin to see slow pitch in you softball towns...when you see slow pitchin you better think about buntin that ball and playin some small ball. The good teams are able to adjust.....do you think that Riverdale, Beech, SD, Coffee County, Football School looks at good pitchin every game??? Heck no but they do learn to adjust

You got to be a kiddin...two teams with good pitchi?? How about one!

from what I've seen as a coach for several years, What have you been a coach? It ain't high school ball cause you would know how many games that a team can play, I would be a willin to bet you my trailer that Cascade Losers have not played 34 regular season games in two years....I have been around the park for a very long time and I have only known them to play in one tourney and that was this year....if you didn't know you can play in FIVE (5) tourneys in one year I bet that is a surprise to them! I did get a chance to watch you when you played and you do have some talent but to get better you better have more team work and work as a unit cause you ain't really to play with the big girls yet! Get yourself out there and go play the good teams and quit a thinkin that you are somethin when you beat up on the teams in your district

The only way to see great pitching for the entire season when your in a weak district is to play a lot of tournaments I suppose You think?? I bet you made real good grades when you went to school, I bet! :flower:

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct! It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed. The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far. I have always said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education, but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today. If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
