Rhea wins the Tiger Classic

The Rhea County Golden Eagles won the Meigs County Tiger classic Saturday by going 5-0, and beating Sequatchie County 6-0 in the championship game. Great job ladies!! The best thing was they really came together as a team during the course of the day.

 

Rhea 4 Kingston 3; after failing behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Eagles rallied for 4 runs over the last two innings to win their first pool game. Abby Daniels scored on a single by Whitney Thompson in the third. Nikki Shelby had the big blow with a 3 run, 2 out triple that gave Rhea the lead. Hanna Manley was 2 for 2 with two doubles, and got the win on the mound.

 

Rhea 6 Polk 2; Shelby Kincannon picked up the win in relief pitching two scoreless innings. Sarah Freels had a double, and Hanna Manley had two RBI’s to lead the Lady Eagles at the plate.

 

Rhea 9 McMinn 3; Rhea once again rallied after failing behind 3-0 in the first. Sarah Freels had two hits, and four RBI’s in the game. Abby Daniels sorced two runs and Jessica Kerley went 2 for 3 at the plate, scored a run, and also had a stolen base to lead Rhea’s 11 hit attack.

 

Rhea 8 Sullivan East 0; Aylssa Greenwood hit her first home run of the year, Paige Mason had three hits in three at bats, Hanna Manley had two more doubles, while Jessica Kerley and Abby Daniels both had 2 RBI’s . Manley and Kincannon both pitched three innings a piece.

 

Rhea 6 Sequatchie 0; Manley pitched 6 innings of three hit ball to pick up her 4th win of the day in the championship game. Morgan Hidalgo, Mason, Daniels, and Kerley all had two hits, in the 10 hit Rhea attack.

Congrats to the girls!!!

Kingston tried to put 'em down in pool play but couldn't get it done. We lost to Sequatchie in the 5:30 game.

BigMo I think we are in every tournament you guys are in this year, so I know we will see you guys again. Until then good luck.

BTW, that was a nice shot you hit against us!!
