The Cookeville vs Columbia game was officiated horribly .. Missed calls both ways. Game was getting out of hand. Thankfully nobody was injured for either squad. But it didn't look like a very much contested game. Anybody see any of the other games and would like to give us some highlights?

We had the same experience up in Cookeville at our region final. Game nearly out of hand. Intentional colisions designed to injure rather than recover the ball. Tempers flaring. Hurt players having to be helped off the field. Line judges mute on calls they could and should have made both ways but didn't.

I hope they get a better field some day, cause the field they have is so narrow and tore up. It has to be an adjustment to them when they go to a normal field that is 10 or 15 yards wider.

Best of luck to everyone that moved on.

I don't typically get on here and argue about things, but I will defend my players.

Against Columbia, we committed some cheap, cynical fouls out of frustration, especially later on in the match.

Not so against Ooltewah. My players don't intentionally go out and try to hurt people. Yeah, sometimes they'll go in for a 50/50 challenge somewhat recklessly, but it's because they're working as hard as they can to win the ball. Generally, the referee judges that correctly and shows a yellow card.

We're not a dirty team. There's a difference between physical and dirty play. Our game against Columbia was exceedingly physical both ways, but I didn't see much wrong with what either side did. Two teams fighting hard to win, which is what most games are going to be at this stage of the postseason. Common sense is that there's too much at stake at this point for teams to take the field with an agenda to play dirty.

Best of luck to those still in it, and well played, Columbia.
