Swanson, those are valid points and worth discussing, which is a far cry from some of the other rhetoric that comes through bashing FC and the kids that attend the school. But let me say that I have seen public schools around here that my tax dollars are being used to build some nice buildings and facilities.

The problem is that buildings and facilities are the least important aspect of a solid education. This is something that the privates understand (even those privates that are fortunate to have beautiful buildings and awesome facilities) , while most public school districts think money alone will solve all problems. That theory has proven false time and time again.

I think he has accuracy issues. He had several easy TD passes overthrown against CCHS. Not to mention his first pass was almost picked for what would have more than likely been six. However, he has a cannon of an arm and will make some noise in the playoffs.

I don't see him being a D-1 qb, but he will be coined as a "Athlete" and fit into somebody's scheme on that level. He's a great athlete with a great set of wheels. If he continues to grow strength and speedwise, he could make a name for himself in college.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
