QSouth89
During the YBOA 7th grade National Championship Tournament in Kissimmee Florida, the Tennessee Vision defeated (in pool play) the Brevard Florida Elite 70-44, the Fayetteville (NC) Seminoles 62-47, and the Middle Georgia Raptors 64-35. In Bracket play the Vision defeated the Louisiana Elite 66-50 then lost to the Forest City (NC) Heat 54-46 in the quarter finals (the Elite 8). In the consolation bracket the Vision defeated the Crawford County (GA) Supersonics 71-70. Then in the 5th place game the Vision lost in overtime to the nationally ranked Atlanta Celtics 58-56 in overtime to finish in 6th place. Their final record was 41-8. Hoopit10
Q- congrats on your team. What happened to Team 147?
QSouth89
I guess they focused on AAU. They were not at the YBOA State or national tournaments.
doctorno
Team 147 decided to test the AAU waters this year. The "AAU Nationals in Memphis" thread in this forum has a rundown of the middle TN teams at AAU nationals, including 147. The "Congrats to 147" thread has the team lowdown. They finished 47-8 for the season and won 9 of the 12 tourneys they entered including the Tournament of the Americas in Atlanta and three 8th grade tourneys. QSouth89
The Vision were looking forward to facing the team 147-A4O. Its a measuring stick of sorts for the kids playing a really good team like 147. We won 7 of 12 tournaments played. We won the Michael Jordan brand classic in Charlotte NC, AAU subtate eastern division champions, and the boys won two 9th grade tournaments and finished runner up at YBOA State and in a couple of 8th grade tournament. The Vision was 2-2 in the Knox Vegas Classic playing nationally ranked teams like the South Carolina Raptors, Atlanta Knicks and the ATL Rockerfellas. The Vision lack size, a 6'0 post isn't enough against teams with 13 year old 6'5 post players or in case of the Rockerfellas 6'8, 6'7, and 6'3. Never-the-less, good season.
