DrFlint
Logcabinman, No doubt the baby blue will be improved, and will likely compete with the lesser teams on their schedule. But even the most quenched Kool Aid drinkers can't really believe Central is ready to compete with the likes of McMinn.

Last years game with 2 minutes to go McMinn was only ahead 19 to 7. They scored late to make score 26 to 7. With the exception of Sanders McMinn lost EVERY kid that carried, caught or threw the ball. BUT, enter in the 2 transfers from Walker Valley and Dalton and McMinn is looking ALOT better than what they would without them. None the less, McMinn would still win anyway just because of depth taking over in the 4th qtr. McMinn SHOULD NEVER lose to Central and won't this year. But don't kid yourself, McMinn is no juggernaut. Especially without the 2 transfers.

It is a good money maker, but truth is I wish we did not have to open up with them or have to play them. 89 Charger is right, for the most part this game is pretty good for 3qtrs. but depth is and has always been a factor. Win or Lose this game doesn't matter. However I would love to see the Chargers compete. McMinn returns all their line and has a one-two RB punch. I never said or nobody has said that Central will beat McMinn. You my friend are the one trying to mix up the blue Kool-Aid. All the post on this thread state the simple fact that the Chargers are much much improved. The teams MC need to worry about is Polk, Seq., Meigs, and Sweetwater. Other than that I would love to see an upset this Friday.
DrFlint
I predict a overall winning season and a win Friday about 24 to 14. Go Blue
hootowlhollow
Not that I think it will happen but a McMinn loss plus Mccallie would be devastating to begin the season
logcabinman
I stand corrected:). Could be possible though!!!!
blitzinbuc
Hard for me to comment much on this one since I know many of the players, fans, and coaches of both schools. Just hoping there's no rain tomorrow night so a big crowd will come out to support this 'cross the creek' rivalry.
BALLCOACH93
Mcminn co. 35 - Central
plumb69
34-6 who? Have you seen either team play? If you say Central 6 then Bradley, South Pitt, and Brainard defenses will struggle this year. McMinn Centrals O did very well against those Ds. Scrimmages mean squat. Is this the heated rivalry it was in the 1970's?
