The constant theme on this board is bashing TSSAA. I would guess you all want everything free. Things don't work that way.

It would be interesting to see how all of you would get the revenue to run the TSSAA.

mapperman and the rest of the posters on this thread tell us how the TSSAA should be run. -- you seem to have all the answers.

You don't have to buy a program, you don't have to attend the games, you can sit back and read about them FREE on the Internet. And if the Tennessean started charging to read their online paper you'd complain about that too.

So, you would recover cost by taking money from the programs? By fining them or placing extremely high prices on program costs? I am not trying to be combative, but people are entitled to their opinion just like you are. I am sorry if you see nothing wrong with the TSSAA but most of the people on this board have had years of experience with them and know that their methods need to be revised slightly. Plus, if we all got paid as much as some of their members did, I am quite sure some of us could come up with effective ways to generate revenue without looking like thiefs in the process.

The TSSAA is a private association that schools are more or less forced to join that does not do fully disclose their financial records. Also, they make decisions that are not in the best interest of the student they should serve. I think this is a corrupt and hypocritical association - i.e. where do Ronnie Carter's kids go to school or Gene Menees' kids?

Those are just some of my issues. I could help Tank Talk write his book.

Hmmm, we split the profits....buy a couple of bodyguards to protect us from the mafia...I am in!

Let's see TankTalk -- you will complain about going to a playoff football game for $8.00 and buying a program for $3.00 -- but you'll go to a movie and buy popcorn and drink for the same amount, or go out to eat and spend the same amount and not complain a bit.

At the football game you get 2 hours of excitement and part of the money you spend goes to support the school.

Tell us, what would you say would be a fair price for a program and play-off football game?

Actually, I don't go to the movies either, it's too expensive. But, if you can show me where I am complaining about the actual price of a program...please do so. I, and others, are saying $375 to put a team photo in that program, is too much.

Now, you tell me how much it costs to print these programs....compared to how much the TSSAA is making from selling the photo space and the program at the games?

Then, you tell me if some of it could be lowered? Of course it could, but then the outrageous salaries at the TSSAA offices may have to be lowered. Wake up...the TSSAA has been making money hand over fist the past several years. And they have been making money at the hard work and expense of our children. I have been writing about this for many years and the program is not the only thing. Fining single A schools $250 for a coach getting ejected from a game is another of my gripes or complaints. Trust me, there is much more.

If you can honestly defend all of their actions, then you either work for them...or you can't accept fact.

But, this is just an opinion that is shared by most. I respect your decision to believe and support what you want, as long as you do the same in a mature fashion.

    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
