So what is the landscape of D2 Volleyball this year?

It is very obvious that D2 Volleyball has picked up all over the State both in Big and Small schools. New coaches and very good athletes are the reason. St Agnes, Ensworth, Brentwood Academy, John Paul II, Webb(Knoxville) Ryan, GPS and a number of others have made strides to get to the finish line for what is becoming one of the most heated and competitive seasons in the past number of years. Who are the best in your area?

Chattanooga only has 2 teams in D2 AA Baylor and GPS. Baylor seems to be the front runner, but don't count out GPS. It is fun to what Coach Lail and Brock's team go after each other. It seems that Big Red has had both GPS and St Agnes number lately.

D2 AA West right now is 1) SBA 2)Agnes 3) Hutchison 4) Briarcrest

 

Hutch beat Briarcrest ; Agnes beat Hutchison ; SBA beat Agnes

 

SBA has not fallen off despite losing a lot of good seniors.

 

Agnes is probably the most talented all around, but they have been without their star player (Porter?) for a few weeks bc of injury.

 

Hutchison is fairly young across the board, but they have a good bit of talent. One of those teams that can lose a head scratcher on Tuesday and then pull out a match that nobody would expect them to win the next day.

 

Briarcrest is really young but scrappy.

 

I think that SBA, Agnes, and Hutch will all be at the Tennessee Tandem in Chatt next week.
