I guess mtp had a lot of sportsmanship too going for 2 and kicking and onside kick while they were up by 30+

If I'm not mistaken MTP has gone for 2 all year and as far as the onside kick goes, that's just football. Cwood played with the same number of players as MTP did and had the whole game to do something about getting beat so don't get mad over the last few minutes. Congrats to the tigers on the win!

who cares...if anything, the collinwood coaches need to learn how to coach defense...offense is fine. Maybe they need to put some of the younger, faster guys in there to make improve the quickness. they looked tired in the first half...came alive in the second but it was almost over by then

I wanna take this statement back...actually Collinwood did play good defense, they stopped the MP running bakcs and covered the receivers well. They got pressure on Harlin too but when the play breaks down he takes off and nobody is good enough to stop him because for a 1a back he is to experienced, elusive, and fast for anyone to catch. From what I saw he is about the only player that did anything. A couple of receivers out battled collinwood dbs for a couple of long passes but that was it...it was basically all Harlin all night. If you want a chance to beat Mt P I would advise blitzing the entire front on every play.

Always bring six, sometimes seven. their line isn't very good but you will need help bringing him down because he is quick and nearly impossible for one man to corral. Don't even worry about the passing game, just cover man on man. Typically he throws into coverage, just gives his tall receives a chance to make a play.

Been a couple of days now, and not one good post yet to explain this poor behavior by the Collinwood coaching staff. I do not place any blame at the players/kids. I am sure they done as coached too. Though I have been awaiting an excuse, I have realized, really, there is none.

If the Collinwoods coaches had any problems with mTp's new coaching staff, then by all means be men about it. Swallow your anger and pride, show good sportsmanship, cross the field with the kids, shake hands, say good game, and teach them how to have class.

Take a few days, let your disgust or anger subside, then make a phone call, write a letter, or send an email to the mTp coaching staff explaining what angered you or what you diisliked..... But to do this, and cause this type of poor sportmanship and the animosity between schools programs it breeds, is just wrong headed and no excuse for it.

The kids follow out in life what is lead to them by example.....

I for one do hope Collinwood's administration folllows up with their coaching staff on this..... For the one Trojan coach that set forth a good example, JMO, I would resign from this coaching staff your a part of unless the administration sees fit to promote you to lead the program. You by far would deserve it for being the creme of the crop and led by good example to what Good Sportsmanship is all about.

Shame on the rest of Collinwoods coaching staff..... There were a lot of kid's eyes watching what you all did. You may like or approve the example you set forth.... But I don't. Nor did a lot others.

No Excuse for Leading Kids Down that Path.

The reason I heard was the coaches told the boys to run to the busses to avoid trouble.

If that's true, take a moment to take the hot headed ones aside, have one assistant coach escort them to the bus. Reprimand them later, stress to them they will not play future games with that attitude. Adress the rest of the team and remind them thats not how you are supposed to react to a loss. Then the rest of the staff and players carry on across the field to shake hands in Good Sportsmanship with class.

If it was the whole team wanting trouble? Still sounds like a coaching problem with the kids not being taught to have the right attitudes towards the games they play.....

If it comes out as mTp's players goating and bad mouthing, I would expect nothing less out of mTp's staff to squash that bad behavior and promote the right attitudes and Good Sportsmanship. But then again, there's always a little of that going on during the game. Does that always lead to this type of walk off in poor sportsmanship?... Nope.

Like I stated before..... No Excuses.

If it comes out there's a legitimate reason for Collinwoods coaches doing this to stave off violence after the game? Then I and maybe others can reason that, and I'll be the first to retract statements and apologize, but what I stated will still be partially true.

No way should ALL the kids on that team be mad at a loss enough to start trouble. It all stems from the right attitudes or wrong ones..... That lies within a coaches responsiblities to teach the right attitudes.

I'm still surprised that Collinwood got beaten this bad. Several on here said they were a top 5 1A team.

The Trojans don't look bad playing wise. I'm sure the loss of their back has hurt them somewhat. They have a good QB in #8, he carried the load for them Fii. Nite and looked good doing what he was able to do. So I'm quite sure they will rebound if they can find a way to compensate for the loss of their back.

It's just mTp is clicking together offensively really well right now. Defensively too as of the Collinwood game....
