Bigby my question is how in the world did y'all donkey stomp PC without him but have been playing flat the past few weeks?

Took a while to realize it all????..... I don't have a clue....

Scratched my head for over a week about that one.?.?.?..... Not purposefully wanting to offend PC folks.... But I have to agree with WC and C-wood fans, PC wasn't that good apparently.

I for one was really pumped that mTp did beat them badly. Like I stated in a post on that thread, I really thought that game proved mTp to be a team, not just relying so much on Harlan, but, that team has been flat ever since. So, one game is a fluke, and more than one is truth. Works that way either winning or losing.

I still think they can pull it together if they want too..... Talent and speed is there.... But is confidence and drive???

Forrest was in a dog fight with PC, I believe the speed of mtp will prevail this week! Was puzzled by the play calling against Loretto , mtp has no size so why get in a power formation! The wishbone is not a good look for a small line! Spread em out an run and gun! One big disadvantage for mtpis from here on out will be depth! Not many on the side lines! Good luck to both and hope for an injury free affair!

#1 tendency is holding IMO. Can't see if it's the same player(s) being called, or if it's a team tendency. Also, I saw a 1-step slow O-Line last night in 1st half. Whatever the case, hopefully coaches will address & fix before getting into post play. Nevertheless, Raiders can win as long as they are willing to go get it done.

Moore Co. had a good team and the QB is really good. They have gotten lots of holding calls all year and that will be their downfall eventually. You can block your opponent and you can grab a hand full of shirt and not get caught as long as you keep your hands inside the shoulder pads... but when your opponent rolls off your block and you are still hold on to that shirt the flags are gona' fly. Moore Co. probably has gotten more holding penalties than any 1A team playing the game this year. They have been good enough to overcome those penalties so far but the competition is getting better and those holding calls will send home sooner or later.

As said before The penalties I'm afraid will be our downfall, if we can somehow prevent the holding penalties then we have a good chance of winning more games

MC only gets called for holding if the play goes for more than 10 yards or a TD. So they just need to keep their gains to less than 10 yards and score on short runs or passes and the holding calls should go away..

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
