I hope Riverdale woops Smyrna. The reason i want this to happen is because Smyrna have some attitudes and like to talk a lot. On the other side of the ball, Riverdale, has a good bunch of guys. I know there offense has not been the best but they still are a pretty good team. Smyrna has a pretty good team too but I believe Riverdale will win. I think the good guys will win.

Boys Blackman played all of these teams mentioned and i'll be it there were some very good athletes on these teams, but i didn't see any legit 4.4's at any of those games against the Blaze last year. The kid at Hunters Lane is probably the closest in the mid-state to the 4.4 numbers. And i'm not saying he runs a 4.4, but he had a good year on the track according to the papers this year. There are very few legit members in the 4.0-4.4 club. And only a few of them even play football! No disrepect meant to any of the afore mentioned athletes! Just trying to keep it real.

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
