wardawg2038
Right now Falcons look very Green! Match the color of the uniforms!!LOL Numbers are low due to some attrition and other issues during offseason, around 23 players, excluding Freshmen that can't dress in spring. Have some talent in the skill spots but very inexperienced. only 5 players on the team with Varsity experience. 3 starters on Offense returning, of those only 1 is an O-lineman. Defensively, 4 starters return but only 1 in the DL and 1 at LB. Could be as many as 5 sophomores starting on either side of the ball for LC so going to be interesting to see how they develop. Cannot wait until the scrimmage Thursday to see how the young guys do. They seem to be getting better every practice from what I can tell. LC does have some talented players but they are young. Hopefully, the falcons will get better over the rest of the spring and summer.

wardawg2038
TSSAA rule! Freshmen cannot participate in spring practice unless they are on the same campus, for instance a school that is 7-12. Freshmen at those schools, South Fulton, Gleason for example, their freshmen can dress but not at schools wher middle/high school is separate. Don't like the rule because it does hurt the small single A schools but it is what it is.

OH ok I always wondered why we let our freshman come out and most others don't, but you're right that does hurt the smaller schools especially like a team like Lake Co who dressed out about 20 players

lakecountyfalconfan
Wardawg, What was your assessment on the spring? Thought the young falcons played hard in the scrimmage. Looks like they could possibly be a pretty good team if they work hard over the summer. Knowing coach B that will happen. wardawg2038
Falcons had a good spring and ended up on a solid note in the scrimmage with Gleason, think the final tally was 2-0 in favor of the Bulldogs but was pretty much an even scrimmage with the 10 play format. The Falcons ended 3 or 4 drives inside the Bulldogs 10 yard line by running out of plays and also the Bulldogs had 4 turnovers in which they got the ball back in the 10 play system. Gleason scored on a pass play early then on about a 25 yard run in which running back did a god job breaking tackles and keeping his feet. Lake used alot of combinations to get some looks at players in different spots and rotated between QBs each series. Liked the physical play displayed by the falcons but they must stay healthy as only 21 dressed for scrimmage. Now time to get in shape in summer and get ready for fall.
