Baker and Brothers KC tourney

Actually based on what I have seen from them in the past regarding seeding Baker would have likely been the #1 seed over Lapaglia and Leeth but it really matters less given the pool format and draw into the bracket. Of course you have the wrong guys to compare him to since he would have been at 152 and the next highest seed would have been Cain Salas of Blue Springs.

My point, exactly. Its a real shame Kaleb didn't have the opportunity to attend this tournament his senior year. Its always fun to watch him compete against competition of this caliber.

Yes it is and unfortunately he may not see another chance for that level of competition again this year.

When CBHS heads to Illinois in a few weeks there will be a couple of highly ranked IL kids and a couple of ranked MO kids but nobody on the national scene that I am aware of. However, should still see some decent wrestling there, kids won't fold at that level.

Also would be nice to see he and Marchetti from Father Ryan match up this year but unsure if that will happen. Probably depends on several factors. I know there will be another opportunity to see Turbo Smith of Soddy Daisy again when they come to CBHS but that will depend on what teams do with their line-ups.

I don't know who will be at the GP West to evaluate competition there.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
