Tri-County Seven- Week #5

This year the 3 Rivers conf may be the weakest top to bottom in a long time. The weakest (Johnson Co) is better but the usual top two dogs, Eliz and Unicoi are both down from previous years. Unicoi is very young with a new coach who has no HS experience. They are taking their lumps and at this point are likely one and done in the regional qtrs. Eliz is very experienced on both counts but seems to have a group of seniors that are somewhat soft and more interested in individual stats. It will be interesting to see how these two teams progress during the stretch run over the next six weeks.

Will the refs get credit for the 2 point Betsy win today. Heard they called a foul with no time left and Depew hit 2 free throws. If u blame them for a loss credit them for a win. It only makes sense right?

Unaka lost to Sullivan South this morning. Colbaugh went out in 2nd quarter with looked like a hyper extension of left elbow. Came back and played second half favoring it slightly.

Personally I think Dugger lies to cover up things that are wrong with his program. A true coach would call it as it is and not try to spin it around. Betsy will never win a title cause they will always stay in their comfort area. Also the UC coach is Kerri King she was their middle school coach.

I'm sure they will take advantage of the trip to South Carolina to see if they can't pick up a recruit or two.

Their "recruiting" is limited to carter county. No one from SC would go to Betsy bit that is here nor there

Well, at least 12-0 Bradley Central beat Dorman in a very close game. I would have liked to have seen Elizabethton and Bradley Central play. Betsy must have carried the disappointment of that close loss to Dorman into yesterday's game against Fayette County. A win over Spartanburg may get them home on a positive note.

 

Yes, they did. They played with no heart in the loss to Fayette County. However, Fayette County was very quick and they shot the ball well, something they did not do against Bradley Central.
