I would recommend QBA Quarterback Academy run by Daren Slack.

This is a camp system that my son has been in since 7th grade. It has made all the difference in the world for him. I will not boast on him yet, but people will be talking about him next year as a Junior QB and I owe it all to Coach Slack and his team.

There is a good chance that while you are there you will get connected with coaches and trainers that can help throughout the year.

I will be at the Nashville camp in march with my son and a group of his receivers.

Coach Campbell got his training from Slack and has been with Darrin and QBA (NFA) for the past 9 years. Campbell hosted the first QBA camp at Soddy Daisy HS. Chattanooga has hosted camps at Soddy Daisy, Red Bank, and Notre Dame since 2004. Campbell has been very instrumental in getting camps in Nashville and Memphis. Young men who have been involved in camps in Chattanooga to note are Curt Phillips (Wisconsin), Barry Burnetti (West Virginia/Ole Miss), Chad Voytik (Pittsburgh), Nash Nance (Tennessee/Hampton-Sydney), and Max Staver (Florida), as well as many others. Feel free to contact Campbell for any individual QB training at nfatennessee@gmail.com or 423-413-2577. He will travel throughout the state to work with quarterbacks of any level or age.

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
