Sad day for Smith County

I never said SC didn't go to state in baseball. I was simply just looking at area teams 2012-2013. So my facts were straight. And if I recall when Dyer played at SC, his dad coached at MC. MC won in regular season and in quaterfinals in playoffs. And it was 1987 not 88, SC 9-1. Went to semi finals. Only regular season loss was to MC.

And one last comment on MC, yea their program is down. Their old district was very tough. But, outside the district they scheduled Dekalb, LA, SC, and Trousdale. Have win verse Dekalb, SC, LA in past three years. I would say in new district by the 14 season, they will be toward top. If they would have been in the district in 2011 they would have won it. Didn't they beat the big three that year in Dekalb, LA, and Smith?

Wrong. 1987 we went 8-2 lost to Sweetwater in second round. Lost to York and Franklin Page in regular season. 1988 went 10-0 and lost to Marion Co. in first round.

Not that it really matters...in Maynord's 14 seasons at SC he was 10-3 against Macon...and 2 wins was in the wonder year. Didn't play in his 1st two years.

    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
