THE SQUAD
Leaves Smith County after 14 years with a record of 133-39. 169-79 including his time @ Upperman High School in Baxter. Finally coaching in his "hometown" as he has lived in Cookeville for several years. Look forward to see if Coach Maynord can build upon what Coach Joslin built into a regular district winner and playoff contender for the last 13 years (with Coach Cook at the helm last year). Will be interesting but I'd say "GREAT HIRE" for the Cookeville Cavaliers! Edited January 19, 2013 by THE SQUAD
howdoitknow
It is a great hire indeed. The Cavs will again be in the mix for the district title with Coach Maynord leading the way.

Great to hear a former player speak highly of the coach. As an alumni of CHS I'm really looking forward to seeing what Coach Maynord will do with the Cavs. I wish SCHS well in their search and hope they find the right guy to keep an already great program moving forward.
