TNT State Tournament has been going on for 20+ years, takes place in Springfield Tennessee every February over a two week period. Teams are broken into 4 divisions based on 8th Grade class size. http://www.rcstn.net/tnt/2013_brackets Consist of a lot of private schools and middle schools who chose not to play under TMSAA rules/guidelines especially practice restrictions. Another State type tournament is the James C Haile State Tournament each year in Murfreesboro, TN - it has 2 divisions - small and large schools - also has a 6th Grade division.

South Cumberland took the 2A Championship with a 70-30 win over South Fentress Middle (Clarkrange, TN) in the finals. Finished year at 24-2.

They have several really good players. They have 2 good post players. The one that will be at Daniel Boone next year is good but not sure she will be a true post player in high school. From what i have seen though she has the ability to move out and play the 3 as well and be more than capable. The other one will definitely be a post in high school and should be very good as well. She has another year of middle school ball first though. Things look really good for Daniel Boone in the near future.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
