WrestlingGod
Got into a debate with my brother about this dual (he's a huge Iowa fan, and I'm a Penn St fan). It got me wondering what y'all's predictions are for Fridays huge dual...

WrestlingGod
I went match by match and this is what I got, I thought it looked pretty good 125- #1 Matt McDonough (UofI) dec # 2 Nico Megaludis (PSU) (3-0 Iowa) 133- #2 Tony Ramos (UofI) maj # 20 Jordan Conaway (PSU) (7-0 Iowa) 141- #9 Mark Ballwig (UofI) dec # 19 Bryan Pearsall (PSU) (10-0 Iowa) 149- #8 Andrew Alton (PSU) pin UR Michael Kelly/Brody Grothus (UofI)(10-6 Iowa) 157- #1 Derek St. John (UofI) dec #3 Dylan Alton (PSU) (13-6 Iowa) 165- #2 David Taylor (PSU) tech #14 Nick Moore (UofI) (13-11 Iowa) 174- #7 Matt Brown (PSU) dec #4 Mike Evans (UofI) (14-13 PSU) 184- #1 Ed Ruth (PSU) maj #15 Ethan Lofthouse (UofI) (18-13 PSU) 197- #3 Quinton Wright (PSU) maj #19 Nathan Burak (UofI) (22-13 PSU) Hwt- #7 Bobby Telford (UofI) dec #16 Jon Gingrich (PSU) Final Score- Penn State 22 Iowa 16 Edited January 31, 2013 by WrestlingGod
cbwrestler10
This is what I got 125-McD Dec Mega 3-0 Iowa 133 Ramos Maj Conaway 7-0 Iowa 141 Ballweg dec Peasall 10-0 Iowa 149 Alton dec Kelly 10-3 Iowa (I think you're seriously underestimating Kelly, he showed he can hang with top guys against another big move guy, Tessari (tOSU) earlier this year. Alton's also coming back from a suspension, I know he's wrestled 1 open tourney, but other then that he hasn't seen the mat outside of practice in over a month) 157 DSJ dec Alton 13-3 Iowa (Iowa has a chance for major if he avoids the big move and gets offense going, Alton's aren't known for the best tanks.) 165 Taylor maj Moore 13-7 Iowa (Taylor is certainly capable of teching anyone not named dake at this weight, but Iowa style's gonna be ready to stall and just hang on to keep it close as possible.) 174 Brown dec Evans 13-10 Iowa (this is going to decide the dual, even though it's in Carver Hawkeye I feel that Brown is the better wrestler and will perform. Still whichever team wins this match will win the dual.) 184 Ruth falls Lofthouse 13-16 PSU (Ruth is the best wrestler in the country right now, he's destroyed everyone, and Lofthouse might be #15, but he's lost 3 out of his last 4 matches, and that's not good for your confidence when you're about to wrestle Ruth.) 197 Wright Dec Burak 13-19 PSU (Wright is very easy to slow down and keep out of his offense if you control the ties and hold good position, Burak is a savvy wrestler who spent a year at the OTC and has big wins against top guys like Camp (tOSU) I think he gets to his Russian Tie and slows Q down a lot) HWT Telford dec Gringrich 19-16 PSU Final Penn State 19 Iowa
Newestguy
Wright will win by at least a major. Don't be surprised if Megaludis pulls off an upset. I don't see Evans losing.
