Greeneville Pitcher Injured by Broken Bat

Please keep Zach Finchum and his family in your prayers. While pitching for Greeneville against Cumberland Gap yesterday he was struck in the face and neck by a broken bat. He had cuts to his neck and a broken jaw. He was taken to the hospital in Middlesboro, KY and then flown to a hospital in Knoxville where he had surgery today.

This breaks my heart I hate when kids get hurt. And yes we debate a lot on this web site, but in the end these guys are just kids...... May God's healing hands touch this young man and his mom and dad.

WOW! Definitely praying for a quick and full recovery. Seem to think of this happening in high school ball with a baseball coming back at you, ....but a bat breaking. Was it a wooden bat, or a possible defect in a metal bat?
