Hey everyone,

I'm starting this thread for results and reports from the A/AA Quarterfinals in Murfreesboro. Score updates are welcome, and match reports would be excellent as we all know that score does not always reflect the way the game was played by both sides.

Let the games begin!

I watched the second half through the PK's of Greeneville vs. Kingsbury. Kingsbury dominated ball control and shots in the 2nd half. Greeneville's Keeper was Mr. Calm and Cool, and was in the right place every time.

I worked the East Hamilton vs. CPA game. CPA definitely controlled the game in the first half. I thought East Hamilton played the better 2nd half. This was a fun game to watch, as both teams had some really good, physical and fast players. I think that CPA will beat Kingsbury, although you never can count them out.

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
