The Waverly Tigers will be hosting McKenzie this Friday night at the Tigers House. The first time in 8 years Waverly has obtained home field advantage. Waverly is looking strong this year, improving over the past 4 years where the Tigers had 3 losing seasons, two 1-9 seasons, and one 3-7 season last year. Now, we are 8-2 in the 2nd seed of the playoffs hosting the 1st round at home. So what is your predictions on this game? Who will go home? Who will move on? Who is the better team? Please leave any comments and/or predictions.

Thanks, SENIOR WB/CB #7

I see Waverly winning this game, because Mckenzie may be down a little after losing 2 in a row. The only thing that the Rebels have going for them is a stronger schedule which may be a difference, but I honestly doubt it. (Waverly is 44 on the coacht.com strength schedule poll and McKenzie is 17) I still give this one to the Tigers by 10.

Waverly Tigers 8-2, 2nd seed in the playoffs. A fluke i think not. Waverly is strong this year and imporve more and more every game, they come prepared everytime the take a step on the field. With the confidence of their student body behind them they can do anything. Lets go David Flowers, Ryan Anderson, and Jesse Hayes. This is a TEAM and not a one man show. Lets keep the TEAM effort up and we got this game on lock-down. I pick Waverly 24-12.

McKenzie's still pretty solid this year, but they're beatable. They're not going to put a lot of point on the board - they run mostly out of a power-I and run the ball probably 95% of the time. Cody Cook will get the majority of the carries, and they'll run behind 315 pound tackle Ricky Mathis as much as possible.

Haven't seen Waverly play, but I tend to this they'll take this one.

    • When she starts farting around with the football team the powers in Maryville will run her out of town on a rail and everyone connected with letting her in the door. You saw what happened when Alcoa's radio announcer thought he was coming to Maryville, the people rose up and stopped it.
    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
