Region 1 AAA- District 1 and District 2

We are one month away from practice! How do we see the Region stacking up this year? Lots of changes I will say. My top ten will be like this this until Nov. 14th when West and SH play.

    

      1. Science Hill

      2. Morristown West

      3. Cocke County

      4. Daniel Boone

      5. Dobyns-Bennett

      6. Morristown East

      7. Tennessee High

      8. Volunteer / Sevier County

 

SH has A LOT to prove with losing players and coach. West played them tough twice so it will it be interesting to see Nov. 14th who the front runner is going to be. Cocke from what people have said on here will be good. Boone is up and coming. DB should be solid with their big Post and quick guard. East is just a shot in the dark for me. THS is always solid but who will fill Mitchell's shoes? Volunteer has been in the a couple of times the past few years as has Sevier County so they might sneak up on some people. I agree for the most part although I think East will be better than predicted.  East now has the point guard from Bradley Central who played her first two years at West. East needed a point guard and now they have one.

If granddadone is correct, it would have to be Whitney Donaldson.  That WOULD really shake things up in the IMAC and region.

Donaldson is not going to help East all that much. I saw her last season at mtsu against Science Hill. She was on a better team and couldn't handle the pressure. I think East will make the region but a long shot to make noise.

No one District 1 will come within 10 points of SH this season. MW might be the only team to be under 10 or even win.

I thought DB or Boone may have something for SH this year but I could be wrong. Im not really sure who those teams have coming back or coming up this year. I know that Boone comes down here to West early in the year so I will know more of them after that.

What would Boone have for SH? They do not have a guard to contain the tarter kid or a post to stop Lyons. The one thing that Boone will do, is play hard which can cover up most mistakes and lack of coaching. DB has Alex and Sasha but not much more. I agree with Tommyman that the only team that might have a chance at SH will be West. They looked really good this summer when I saw them play.

I doubt anyone has a player to contain SH pg and the post is good also but its a team game. Obviously SH will have the best player but I didnt know if Boone or DB had enough overall to give SH trouble. I was told that SH lost several key players from last year so I figured some teams up there had to gain some ground on them.
