If Central was good enough to beat Powell, I think they're good enough to beat AC. But I don't think Central can stop AC's running game. I say AC 35-24!!

I mentioned above stop Stinson, you stop Central.

Central had 37 pts against Powell. Stinson scored 4 tds, most all of them long runs, or a kickoff return. If they shut him down AC wins no problem, if not it could be a long night for AC.

I thought Central would be the most improved team in our district from last year to this year. So far, it looks like CC gets the nod on that title. Haha

AC is comming off a tough loss.. I look for a mad and focused group of Mavericks to come out Friday night.. We will be underdogs...

Are you just looking for someone to say something stupid so you can insult them. Who in their right mind would call AC an underdog in this game? I do think that the game may be close. but AC has to be the favorite. As for the statement that if you stop Stinson you stop Central, that is true. I would argue that that is true of most of the teams in this district. Stop Owenby and you stop Powell. Stop the big receiver at CC you stop them. Stop the RB at AC you stop them. That is not new. Before I get the argument that there are other players on those teams that can score, I know the Hicks kid is special, the Garden kid a Powell is good. The QB at CC can find other receivers. Central has The Howard kid that can play. I would say that the point is that those guys are hard to stop and if you can you got a good shot at winning.

I would agree. I would say though, some of those players play a more important role to their teams than others. Like you said, the CC qb can always find a new receiver, but stopping Stinson or Owenby takes away the majority of the team's offense. I've seen it first hand with Central, as I'm sure you have as well. Not saying the others from Central can't score, just saying the score will be much lower if you control Stinson. Minus Stinson's tds, Powell would've won the game 35-9. I'm sure it'd be reversed without Owenby. Point is I agree, but for this game stopping Stinson is key for AC, just as stopping Hicks or Fox is for Central. Edited by powellphoto

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
