I would really like to see this game but I will be at The Fred. I think Betsy wins this one. Too much speed and good defense. Betsy playing S Hill so close is all I need to know. I remember some good DB and Betsy games when a Whitten was there and we had Adonis Johnson. Good atmospheres. I think 98,99 or 2000???

Those games were in 98,99 and they were great games.

This game should a lot of smash with a touch of fling. Cyclones are deep in talent, south is fast on the pass. If the cyclone's db's stay focused, we will get to the QB. I do think we will have to be double threat to make it easy. Cyclones by 7 the hard way, d-threat 14 at least.

Do you not see Betsy as a double threat already? i kind of do. Just no need to throw a lot when it is not needed. I say this simply because of the greater risk of turnover if you throw it. If you are running and its not stopped you keep running, However, I have no doubt if the run struggles we would have no problem going to the air and successful regardless of who is playing QB. That was shown a little last week.   In my opinion the double threat is already there although it may not be needed every game. I may be wrong but I do believe this team is capable of putting up scarey numbers in the air if it is needed.

Except against greeneville of course. I have no idea why anyone wants to waste their time and even play them. It would be like playing the Denver Broncos.  No one can even run a yard against them they are so good. Let alone throw a pass. If we have to play them I'm staying home keeping my $8 I bet manning couldn't pass on them either. Shoot I heard Adrian Peterson was offered a million to play against them and turned it down he knew he couldn't gain a yard. Yeah they are that good.

Think if we keep hitting passes over the next couple of weeks and improve on sustaining a drive solely on the pass. Not quite there in the rhythm of that type of situation just yet. It's kinda hard to judge HV being the only subject, south's db's are a lot faster.

I gotcha. I just think we are very capable of doing it on any giving game. Just not been in a situation to have to. But I personally feel it is there if needed. I also feel both QB's are capable of taking control in that situation if needed too. I may be wrong and of course I lean toward Elizabethton. However, I feel they are very under rated as far as ratings go. On the other hand i like it that way as well. Neither here nor there. It all gets decided on the field in the end. regardless of what I believe or anyone else.

I just have witnessed this being the fourth year. These coaches bring out everything in a kid. They have no quit period. Yes teams may have more athletes. Sometimes it is determined on want and desire. I have seen this planted in my son. Not only on the field but off as well. He has learnt to deal with things and overcome things. I myself would have never thought he could do. I know good students make good athletes. However, in some situation I feel it is reversed good athletes create good students. In the end the want, the desire, is in all of them and anyone standing on the other side is an obstacle. They may not overcome them all or they may. But one thing is for sure they all will know they were there.

How I got off on that no idea anyhow yah we can pass lol.

There are two D1 running backs in East Tn this year. The young man from Betsy and the other at Jeff County. Greeneville held the one from Jeff to 23 yes in 16 carries. I'm not saying they will do that with Mr. Thomas as I firmly believe he is the best back. What I am saying is he won't rush for no 250 yes as he has done against teams so far. He will not out run them as he has other teams and his yards that he gets all will be tough yards. This leads me to the question how good is Betsy at throwing the ball. They will have to throw the football some against both South and Greeneville to have a chance to win.The reason I say lthis is its hard for a predominately running team to play catch up especially if they fall behind a couple of scores.I feel the non conference schedule for Betsy is stronger than South and should help them in their match up. By playoff time Greeneville will have played teams very similar to both South and Betsy. The only team that they play similar to Greeneville is possibly SH and overall Greeneville is much quicker than SH.

cool I have one question who has Greeneville played that would equal Betsy or South? I myself do not see it. I believe they have the weakest schedule of all 3.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
