Oak Ridge @ Powell

Powell reminds me of us, at least with their scores. Their defense has allowed 37 to Central, 46 to Fulton, 41 to CAK, and 27 to Anderson County. They barely beat Karns 19-13 but they're the only team to beat AC. They are up and down and not very consistent. That part is a lot like us.

Consistency has definitely been an issue for Powell. Things have gotten a lot better though since the OC change, which happened right before the Central game.

You're right. Two pretty inconsistent teams throughout the year. I'm still calling it a toss-up even without Owenby.

Does Powell play lots of seniors or are they young like us? I actually hope they're not a senior team. This game will be a tough one and it's very important for us.

I fall somewhere in the middle. Owenby is their best player, and it's going to be tough to win without him. This should be a fun game regardless.

Think about it. Powell was very up.and down with owenby now they are without him. Last wk they barely got by halls middle school lol when.he went down. Not good for Pal

but Powell does have a good Defense and that did not change, If they make the right adjustments and do not try to overcompensate they will still be a good team.  A wise coach once said, The position never graduates, or in this case, gets injured.  Someone will step up.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
