Because I need a break at work...

East/Middle
Ensworth is first. Even with a loss to BA, the Tigers would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with MBA.

MBA is second. Even with a loss to McCallie, the Big Red would hold head-to-head tiebreakers with BA and Ryan.

If Ensworth beats Brentwood Academy and Father Ryan beats Baylor...Father Ryan is third, BA is fourth and Baylor is fifth.

If Brentwood Academy beats Ensworth and Baylor beats Father Ryan...BA is third, Baylor is fourth and Father Ryan is fifth. Baylor would hold the tiebreaker with Father Ryan.

If Brentwood Academy beats Ensworth and Father Ryan beats Baylor...Ryan is third, BA is fourth and Baylor is fifth. Ryan would hold the tiebreaker with BA.

If Ensworth beats Brentwood Academy and Baylor beats Father Ryan...then BA, Ryan and Baylor would have the same league record. They would also have the same number of overall victories. Brentwood Academy has played 8 games against teams at .500 or better. Baylor has played 6 and Ryan has played 5. Thus, BA is third. Baylor would then hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Ryan; thus, Baylor is fourth and Ryan is fifth.

McCallie is sixth. Even with a win against MBA and a Baylor loss to Father Ryan, the Red Raiders hold the tiebreaker.

Pope John Paul II is seventh.

West
The winner of MUS-Briarcrest is first. The loser is second. Both teams get first-round byes and will host quarterfinal games.

The winner of CBHS-St. Benedict is third. The loser is fourth. The winner will host the loser in the first round of the playoffs, with the winner of that game to visit Ensworth in the quarterfinals.

Playoff seeding tiebreakers
A. Head-to-head result
B. Overall number of victories
C. Games against teams .500 or better
D. Wins against teams .500 or better
E. Team whose opponents have the most overall victories
F. Team whose opponents have fewer defeats
G. Team with the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class
H. A 10-yard overtime procedure at a neutral site

LOL what team has not struggled with the NASHVILLE teams. They have struggled against each other. I look for the game to be close with Baylors special teams making the difference.

Did special teams make the difference?  I was watching 3-4 games simultaneously and didn't really notice this one way or the other....

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
