The boys bracket can go any number of ways.....and no one can say for certain how this one is going to go.  Wartburg has teams in front of them that they have beaten....OS and Oneida.  On their own floor that is certainly a doable task....in this District their isn't really much seperating 1 through 6, so forget the seeds.  I'm sure Coach Yaden (Oneida) can't be too happy with the vibe going in, but he still has players that, when playing as a unit, are as talented as the rest and even more than several teams.  Wartburg at #5 is going to beat OS, IMO, because they are going to be comfortable.  Coalfield should turn Hill loose.  Bowlin is a very good guard, he can get Jellico to championship if his teammates keep their hands up....!    Scary week for some.

My round 1 predictions:

 

Oneida: I bet "1st round bye" doesn't even score on Oneida

 

OS vs. Wb: Wartburg gets a big game from Kilby and advances. OS's crowd will be a factor, but still taking Warburg to win by 8

 

Cf vs. Oak: Oakdale hasn't shown me enough defense to win in the tournament. Expect big things from Hill & Johnson. Heart says Oakdale, eyes & brain say Jackets. Coalfield by 12

 

JHS vs. SHS: Sunbright shocks the district! ....almost. Loses a close, low scoring game. Jellico by 6

good call  but I still cant believe it. 8th grader made a difference and I still cant believe it. wartburg loses district 2 yrs in a row to teams that have not won one in 20+ yrs and still cant believe it. BUT ITS TRUE I SAW IT.

Mckinney's impact is unheard of, especially from an 8th grader. The region this year will be awesome

We saw that kid at Christmas.....I said then he was high school ready and his play pretty much validates that thought.  How will our District fare against the other region?  I can't remember all the match-ups but they were something like this:

 

Oneida-GCA

Meigs Co.-Jellico 

Wartburg-Rockwood

Coalfield-Tellico Plains

oneida versus grace in a close with graces state exp grace by 3

meigs versus jellico  meigs by 17

wartburg versus rockwood rockwood won both times by 8 points combined 

this time the dawgs win by 5 and pull a big upset

Gobey......TP better be good.  Coalfield got a huge late season upgrade at guard.  They tore through the District Tournament on quite a roll.  TP will have to play exceptionally well against a very hot team.
