White House vs Giles Co. "Battle of the Stone Walls"

Yesterday I looked at some statistical scoring averages of each team and their respective opponents. And I know the game is still played on the field and the winner isn't decided on paper. But averages and trends are that for a reason, because over time the stats will trend towards their averages. This isn't to say that in any one game there won't be a deviation away from the norm. It happens and that is why they play the game. But still more often than not, averages hold true. I know WH fans will blab about heart and grit and other bull, as would I if the stats were against me. You know the GC kids have heart as well. Also, turnovers are the great equalizer and can change a game so who knows. But here is some more interesting stats.

 

According to current sonny moore rankings GC is a 10 point favorite. This year against the spread (ATS) WH is 4-7-1, they were favored in all but one game (lipscomb) and lost that game. Straight up as a favorite they are 10-1, as a dog 0-1.

At home ATS they are 1-4-1.

 

GC ATS, 5-7. On the road they are 3-3. GC was favored in 9 of 12 games. When favored they are 9-0 straight up.

 

Also, against WH schedule GC would be favored in every game and in theory would be 12-0. Against GC schedule WH would have been favored in 8 of the 12 and in theory would be 8-4 (they lost the only game they were a dog in)

I heard yesterday that coach Porter from w.house will be the head coach in this years

east /west all star game for the west.was wondering if that's true,i know he was the

linebackers coach in last years game,if so then congrats PO PO...

That is true.  And 2 of his assistants are also coaching.

WH staff didn't turn it off when it was brought to their attention.  Didn't affect what happened on the field, but it was dirty imo.  How about just turning it off at 6:00pm so Giles can hear their coaches? 

It is a CITY bullding.  I will talk to the city guy before the game.  I am usually at the field around 615.  It's sort of stupid if you ask me.  But man do not cut wires.  It's the city's dime not the football programs.

Yes both teams were 8-2 Giles county lost to 2 decent programs .. Maybe you have heard of them CPA and ensworth.. Let's not start comparing schedules again. That didn't work out well earlier in this thread

Ensworth has a big linebacker who is from WH and he played with our boys until the 8th grade.  Mad respect for Ensworth.

Gee that's useful.  If your a Giles fan who needs to feel really good about this game.

 

Fact is it's going to be close.  And the same Tennessean writer who predicted PC to beat Giles has Giles over WH.  Let's go by the stat of how THAT worked out. A year ago they picked Livingston over WH.  So as predictions go I am happy to point out the experts sort of suck. 

 

Except for me.  I've been great so far in the Play Offs.  hahahahaha

Yeah we feel your pain.We also have a player on Ensworth from Giles County that plays DB and RB and played with a lot of these boys till left after his eighth grade year.

Well his Dad former Miami Dolphin stayed as a volunteer coach so it's all good.
