Durdon is dead on about the opportunities at the youth level paying off now and even more in the near future, I saw it first hand. Any kid in the state could travel to any national tournament for $50 throughout the season.

 

This new crop will be even better than this group in high school now.

 

I think Tn has a couple teams each year that could join the rankings but until the TSSAA lifts the many restrictions on competing and traveling it will be difficult to gain the necessary exposure. We try to encourage traveling at the youth level just to limit and restrict it in high school when it matters most. 1 major event per season just isn't enough for a team, if they have the resources then they should have the opportunity to represent their state. As for those who don't have the resources, they will improve by competing in state against those who do, unless they're all in separate divisions and never see each other.
