Not really going out on a limb, but congrats to UC and GC because if Middleton(I've seen em) is the best team from the other section then you can punch 2 tickets from district 14A to the Boro! Yep UC and GC are both for real! UC enough said, refer to their record! and GC runs a press as well as I've seen in a long time! GC has those long girls that can play! Wouldn't be surprised to see these 2 in the finals! LC well numbers have been down, and some really good Jr High talent moving up! Look for the Lady Falcons to be back among the top in a couple of years! Good luck 14A! PS Middleton for AAA Miss Basketball(Go cuz, UT signee from Riverdale)

Greenfield has some very good 6th grade talent and has a bright future. Can't remember their names, but they play with the Lady Flash's AAU team in Jackson. We played them last summer and they are for real. If GC can control their own TO's and keep creating TO's and stay out of foul trouble the sky is the limit for these girls. I think if Holt can play well they will do well. She is either on or off. She had a very bad game against Greenfield in the Dist. Tourn. and still won. If the Mullins kid plays well that is helpful as well. They are their seniors and their freshman and sophomores are more consistent. I think the semis will be very competitive. I look for GC and UC to play in the finals.

I agree. And that's usually opposite. But the sophomores and freshman really are just as consistent as the seniors on this team. Idk about more consistent. But really gives a lot to be excited about for the next few years. Really expect Dresden to give us a good game Monday night.

Nice win by Dresden.... You guys sliced and diced our defense all night, shot the ball well, rebounded well and performed like you guys wanted to win. Tough loss for Gibson but tomorrow is a new day.... Good luck to Dresden in the region championship and substate. If you guys play and shoot like you did tonight, you're very capable of making it to Murfreesboro. The PG is a stud! She created offense all night or you guys and the other guard killed us by getting to the basket when she wanted. Great season by our girls and we will be back next year just as strong!

I agree. Our girls played their hearts out. It was a heavyweight fight. Dresden missed their first 6 shots and I seriously don't think they missed 6 shots the rest of the game including free throws. I hadn't seen a team shoot that well since LA did it to us in the early 90's with Sunday Watson and Co. Gibson County IMO was very lucky to keep it as close as they did. We went up by 1 with about 5 minutes left in the 4th, but Dresden just wouldn't miss. Looking back, if we would have went to a match up zone in the 4th quarter it may have helped because we were in pretty serious foul trouble and it was hard for us to defend their penetration. We shot the ball pretty well as we scored 39 points in the second half and we hardly had any TO's and they had more TO's than we did. Looking at the stats you would have to like your chances with GC not turning the ball over and shooting that well in the 2nd half. Just an unbelievable shooting performance by Dresden. Congrats and good luck the rest of the way for Dresden. Tough pill to swallow for GC as we played well enough to win that ball game on most nights. But our girls played their heart out and the coaches coached their heart out all year long. All I can see for GC and their staff is keep on keeping on and good things will happen. Very good season and nothing to be ashamed of.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
