ALCOA POWERhouse !?

I'm now convinced that TN wrestling will be fine with small school titles, but still there is great strategy in facing all competition for individual development.

Love to see D2 and 1AAA combined for the traditional. Team scores can be separated to please the powers that be. Let the boys wrestle. They all put their pants on the same way! Don't they?

If you want to compare the 3 programs, I can tell you what they have coming up from their middle school and youth programs. Hixson has a handful of decent kids but there problem is they just don't have very many kids at all. Alcoa has a ton of kids but none are very experienced. Pigeon Forge has a virtual army of kids coming up. They have a handful of elite level kids, a ton of really good kids and massive numbers. Alcoa is trying hard to really build their program and they are getting better every year but Pigeon Forge is a good 3 to 4 years ahead of them in the development cycle. I really think that Pigeon Forge is going to be almost impossible to beat in small school for next 4 to 5 years.

Your too much, does 1A/AA have different pants because enrollment at a lot of those D2 schools is about the same as the big AA schools. Funny how people can make exceptions to the rule to fit their desired out come.

This is the parent you want to give the most classless parent award to. Let me clarify the situation. The night of regionals the only Alcoa person I spoke with was a Jim Omstead. Mr. Omstead and I were just talking about who we were there to watch and he said Evans and I said my son. I told him that I didn't agree with that situation only because that night was his first match on Alcoa's team. He hadn't been there all year to earn a place at regionals. Mr. Omstead said it was for personal reasons and then tried to make a money bet with me that Evans would beat my son and everybody else in that gym for that matter. I informed him that I didn't bet on high school sports and then moved to another seat. There was no speaking to or intimidating any 13 year old kid, unless Mr. Omstead is 13. My son got teched 15-0 in the second period and finished runner-up. It was ugly. Evans is a great wrestler. He is not who to blame here. He did tell my son at the state tournament that the reason he came back here was so he could retake his fat test when he dropped to 195 to wrestle nationally. He said in California he couldn't retake it as he had already tested there. I have no idea if that is true or not but it's what he told my son. Please don't make up mistruths on this message board and hide behind you username. Thank you.

So I'm guessing no one knows if Greeneville has a youth program? Don't I recall seeing two buses at the pre-season takedown tournament from Greeneville at pigeon forge in order to bring both hs and ms kids? I guess they will take a back seat to the "Big 3" in A/AA. Or have they not finished higher than Alcoa and Hixon the last two years. How many did they lose?
