Anybody in this region going to be able to compete with Clarkrange or Jackson County come time for substate?

Van Buren is the only team I know of that can. Now I've not seen Silverdale so I cant say but VB played Jackson close both times they played. Like I said above they have a stud sophomore that went basket for basket will Coe it will come down to the supporting cast if they play. As far as Clarkrange goes I dont think any teams from region 3a matches up too well against them.

Whoever wins Van Buren Silverdale game will win Region. CSAS has been playing better, but they will struggle to beat Whitwell and are not consistent. CSAS can only win if refs let the game get physical, that is their style. It would be huge upset for either 3a teams to beat a JC or CR. No size at all in 3a and no one who can defend Coe. But that is why they play the games.

Prediction/Guess

Region semi- Whitwell by 2 over CSAS. Van Buren 20+ over Silverdale.

Region Championship- Van Buren by 5 over Whitwell (would be the fourth game between these teams this season so we "would think" Whitwell plays them a lil tougher. .

Region Semi- Clarkrange 20+ over Clay County. Jackson county by 8 over Watertown

Region Championship- I have no clue who will win this game.  Clarkrange by 1 over Jackson County

SUB STATE

Clarkrange by 15+ over Whitwell. Van Buren by 1 over Jackson County

Van Buren and Whitwell are the best two teams in 3a once again. Whitwell played a much tougher schedule this season then years past. Van Buren played an even tougher schedule.

Whoever hosts the substate from 7A be it JC or CR will win by 40 whoever goes on the road will win by 15. VB is a good team no doubt but they will not beat either one of these super powers in Class A

Van Buren will beat Silverdale if they are able to keep pressure on their shooters. The game has the potential to be another close game. Both teams are hungry and want the win. Silverdale will be playing in a gym they are familiar with and should bring a nice crowd. CSAS and Whitwell have played only once this year and CSAS suprised them with a first round win at their Thankgiving tournament. Whitwell is playing better since Jan. 3 and has had an impressive run. They seem to have trouble with teams that have guard play good enough to handle their multiple defensive sets designed to speed up the game as was evident in their games against Hardy (even with the win, they gave up a lot of points) and Van Buren. Boyd had week guard play and it showed.  Jan. 3 was also a turning point for CSAS, including the 38-65 lose to Van Buren on that night CSAS has 3 additional loses.  They have beaten both Boyd and Silverdale twice in that span and was leading Van Buren by 1 with the ball with 13 seconds left their second meeting when their youthfulness showed up when they missed a strongly contested layup that they didn't need to take. CSAS is a young team starting 2 sophmores and a freshman. They are learning how to win and have done so their last 5 games. They are a very quick team who consistently plays with 4 players on the floor capable of making strong moves to the basket and drawing fouls. I look forward to 2 exciting games tonight by 4 good teams. Predictions: Van Buren by 5 and CSAS by 7

The layup was completely uncontested and was much higher percentage than 2 foul shots. The coach drew a perfect play, the van buren girls were out of position, and the CSAS girls executed perfectly right up until the the girl missed the layup. She makes it and CSAS probably goes on to win. Just the way things go some times.
